All the rest were streets but I dropped off tonnes of brochures all over the place with no orders. Has any1 got any bright ideas as family and friends are basically a nono and i dont have a work place and hubby work place is also a no go. Ive tried doctors, dentists, travel agents, gyms, schools, preschools and no joy0

If it is only your first time at delivering to your territory then I wouldn't worry - you've done really well - carry on delivering to your territory you are sure to pick up more customers over the next month or so - as some people won;t have ordered this time as they have no spare money....after christmas they might well want to treat themselves and so order. Plus you have to bare in the mind that they might have been messed about by a previous rep who had that territory - once people see that you are reliable and are carrying on then you will pick up some more customers. You could always try running an offer for there first order of giving them 10% off - you will still then be earning, but it will mean you have picked up some new customers who might not have tried avon before but were tempted by the discount! I'm going to be recanvassing my territory again after christmas and will be running an offer where they get 20% of their first order, and 10% of their second order to try and tempt a few more people to try avon!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Hi all, just after some advice if possible.
I'm wondering if you could help me.
My hubby has just lost his job and we have to now 'sign on the dole'... Because i'm doing part time and self-employment I have to do a B7. For my part time job this is easy... but for self employment i'm just totally bamboozled. I know I have to tell them how much commission I get but apart from that i'm stuck. I don't know how much I have to deduct each time for tax, (and after sending off for class 2 NI I know I don't need to pay as the dole are paying Class 1 for me, so I've to sort that out) but I don't know anything else...what other deductions should I be taking off the commission. Do I take off the books and samples that I pay for.... also should I be deducting the Hello Tomorrow products? and if i do deduct the HT from my commission, can you confirm I only deduct the demo products from hello tomorrow and not the sale items?
Sorry if that sounds confusing, it's just I'd hate to put in that I get £80 commission, and then i'm out of pocket because I don't deduct tax/books/samples and the possibility of the hello tomorrow. if there is anything else which I need to deduct can you let me know.
Thanks ever so much.

sorry to hear your husband has lost his job Emmy.
You can claim for all the books you buy, sample products you buy, items you buy from Clearance and HT, as you use these in your business to attract new customers, don't you?;)
You can claim for stationery, part printer, paper used for avon customers, anything you buy for avon, ie folders to keep all your paperwork, pens and pencils especially used for avon paperwork, etc.
Can't really help with tax as not submitted my first return yet.0 -
So I can each month deduct everything which I basically use for avon...so kinda like the tax then???
Another thing is they are wanting payslips...what the heck do I send? do I send the invoice??? Will it be the whole thing?? i'm just so unsure? Sooner we are off this dole malarky the better..

You can deduct each month stuff you use for avon, but you can't take the tax off yet, as you won't know what you will be paying.
Yes, for housing benefit, I submit the invoice showing my discount. They were asking for all the pages to start with and I said the rest were just things like mistakes on pages..xx, I said you don't need to see that and i recycle pages I don't need. So they accepted the ones showing discount earnt.0 -
it's a pure pest. I was enjoying the avon, but i'm just not enjoying this hassle now
lol!
I thought maybe you could take the i dono if it's 22% or what of tax off your monthly commission, I usually keep 25% of my commission in another account for tax purpose only... just so i know i've got enough lol!
thanks for your help hon x
ooo do you photocopy your invoice and send to them?2008 Wins: 2 x VIP tickets to Ministry Of Sound, Umbrella, Tea Towel, £50 Tesco Gift Card, Amplifier (worth over £1,100 alone).

chances are you won't have to pay tax as your earnings will probably be under £5,000 and with all the expenses you need to claim, sure you won't qualify for tax.
I know its a pain having to submit the info, I have to do it every month.0 -
anyway my hands are disgusting and dry from the cold so thought i would order myself some hand a cuticle cream...also i get dry -itchy elbows so i saw the planet spa buy 3 for whatever and thought what the hell promote through using and all that (i never use hand cream etc usually) so...opened the planet spa shea butter hand cream....YUCK!!!
Hi Phia
My mum is a hand cream addict, and last year I got her some of the glycerine hand cream. She loved it, and now I'm a rep she's asked me to order some more and she'll get it off me when we get together at Christmas.
She's used loads of different creams (even a Clarins one bought for her by a very generous friend!) and found that this one is the best - moisturising and not greasy at all.
She loves it, and I'd consider her an expert!!
(have ordered the Christmas version as well this time for her to try).0 -
