I buy quite a few asda smart price things like the curry sauce, strawberry jam (no bits in it), the tinned custard which my kids love and find they are ok, have bought their own frozen mince for tea tonight and smart price bolognese sauce, first time so hope it is ok

If it's the one thats with a clear bag and a red bit at the top it should be fine! I use the value sauce for my lasagne I just add a bit of onion and some mushrooms if I have any lying around but it's fine without.

I have never found ANY frozen mince thats even remotely edible ,infact most supermarket mince is awful anyway
I prefere to buy good mince and just use less of it ,bulked out with more veg
  • The only mince i will buy from Asda is the Extra Special fresh mince, normally i buy mince from Waitrose or from Sainsburys!

Cheap meat is a big no no for me, even though i was sorely tempted to 'try' the asda smartprice mince!

Its false economy buying cheap meat. The cheap burgers, mince are full of fat/muscle/tissue, scraps etc you wouldnt eat it if you knew what they shoved in them mechanical machines that get every ounce of meat from bone

    Suddenly I think i might turn veggie!_pale_

i refuse to buy cheap mince too. i get extra lean steak mince or the finest one.
whats the point of getting the smart price one? by the time youve drained off the fat, chucked out the grissle and bits of bone your'e left with nothing :p
