For the love of God - DO NOT BUY ASDA SMART PRICE FROZEN MINCE
As above - DO NOT buy it.
From now on I will always buy premium frozen mince or fresh mince and just freeze it on day of purchase.
It is absolutely FOUL.
You cook it and all congealed white saturated fat spreads itself along the bottom of the pan.
When cooked it smells like you are burning human flesh - I am not squeamish in the slightest I have eaten chicken hearts whilst in France, But the smell of this mince cooking actually made me gag.
The texture is awful its like mushed up toilet paper and the aftertaste is foul!
I am NOT a food snob, I always stick to value brand where possible and shop at Lidl and Aldi often - but please DO NOT buy this.

Right there with you! We decided to downsize our shopping right down to see what was good etc and when I cooked the mince I thought it smelled like dog food and couldn't take more than a bite. The one I use now is the asda own frozen one that had a red banner (can't remember whats it called) that I keep in there for when I forget to take out something to defrost. The tuna is not so good either- even my cats refused it.
In fairness to asda a lot of their smart price stuff is pretty decent and even though we can afford to do non-smart price shopping we still choose some of the smart price stuff we know is ok.0 -

I bought the Asda Smart Price Instant Custard once and it was absolutely foul. I'm not that fussy usually but it was slighlty thicker than water and just tasted stongly like Canderel, nothing like custard.
Never again!0 -

Its false economy buying cheap meat. The cheap burgers, mince are full of fat/muscle/tissue, scraps etc you wouldnt eat it if you knew what they shoved in them mechanical machines that get every ounce of meat from bone0
