    Morning loopychris
Get yourself to Superdrug, they've got an offer on stamps I think it's 5% off a book of stamps, but when the prices go up you don't have to pay the extra as the stamps ahve 1st & 2nd on them but no price :D

    Evening Sparky
Thanks for that, but I don't need to buy any stamps at the moment. I stocked up in March 2008 before the prices went up the first time, I invested about £200 as at the time my OH was still working, we'd paid off the mortgage so had some extra money, and I was sending a lot of post out each month. I've still got loads of 1st & 2nd class large and normal stamps left, hopefully enough for this year. Maybe I should use my sealed pot savings to buy stamps before they go up next year!

  • Ok do we just take one of the edward elgar notes to the bank and they will give us one of the new ones??

I think so - but if they refuse that link says you can take them to the Bank of England, as the note was issued by them, and it says on it "I promise to pay the bearer on demand ..." Can't see that banks can refuse to take them really, as we've only had 3 months notice. And trying to get into the Bank of England is like trying to get into Fort Knox. I used to work there in the 70s and even then security was very tight. It might have changed now and you might be able to get into the drawing office to change them... but I would imagine security is tighter now.

So... best to get rid of any Elgar ones before June 30th..

I think I've done quite well with the challenge so far (except for a low point were I took a pair of tweezers to the terramundi to extract a tenner:rotfl:)Been putting the odd note in as well as coins because enthusiasm is there although as we creep nearer to the end of the month I have noticed I am contributing less and less, bring on pay day!!

    Hope everyones doing well,

    Much love

Nothing for me for the last few days but have lined up a few mystery shops so should get some pennies over the next few days. Am stressing about being unemployed and it hasn't even been 2 weeks. And they've given me 3 months pay, but i think I may have been born to worry.:A

Well I put the money in last night in the end and it was £7 should have been £8 as there's a £1 coin sitting on my chest of drawers in the bedroom but there was no way I was going up and down stairs as well!!
