Typical.... Why is it you wait ages and ages for £2 coins to appear to top up the final total and then after the big count you end up getting 5 £2 coins in one week!

I'm trying to spend less on debit/credit cards and use cash more, so there should be plenty of coins going in the various pots. I noticed a few months ago that DH and I were going backwards and forwards to the cashpoint several times a week drawing cash without a thought. Now I take £50 cash out every Friday and it has to last us a week. It really makes you realise how much you're spending!:rotfl:

DH used to work down by the docks in liverpool. he loved it. but it was a bit of a commute from manchester everyday so was really lucky when he got offered a job near where we lived.

Hello everyone, I am back to try again, I have had the year off - divorce so not really skiving - so need to double my efforts now and this really was a good challenge for me the last time I did it, I liked to lift my tin and feel how heavy it was and towards the end made guesses to the actual amount I might have saved....I was pleasantly surprised with how easy I found it, I even managed to put away three (3) five pound notes that year !!!!

So please can I have a number and I will get started again, I am going to attempt to save 50p coins this time as I put £2 coins in last time and as much as I got the benefit at the end of the year sometimes it was a struggle, so only one wage now so the amount has reduced, but I do get more 50p coins.....I may even put the money towards a little holiday - dare I say the word - I think I deserve it.

Good luck everyone and here's to saving as much as we possibly can without killing ourselves in the process. I will pop in regularly to update in order to keep myself on track more than anything else.

Oops there I go again off on a ramble - lol
:) Been here for a long time and don't often post

    Hello everyone!

Another 43p in pottery piggy today! Getting heavier already -still on the lookout for something a bit bigger.

I'm really glad to start the pot again, it was really nice knowing that as it built up a bit, I had a little secret stash pf pennies and it felt a bit funny when it was emptied.

Definately going to try and raid DHs pockets a bit more this time:D

Hi moneytree1, no-one need to join again, just take up saving with your pot again until next year - and have plenty of good wishes to speed you on your wealthy way! Please could I just ask that you put your SPC No which is 110 on your sig? It helps me so very much. Thanks mt1, I'd very much appreciate it. :) Keep letting your little one watch, she'll hopefully then be a great saver later!

A very warm welcome to the thread lolly_896 it's lovely to meet you. :D Enjoy yourself with us and have great fun saving. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 2 of page 1. If you haven't already done so then read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll help you with any queries. If you can put your number on your sig it would be great.

Well done TheBees, another one sussing out how best to live and gain! :T

Well done starnac and mummytummy! You'll be thankful next year MT

Oh good for you with DH's pockets elizabunny that's usually where the lolly is, the big stuff too!!! Money we're talking ! ;)

    Keep it up all.

Sue New friends wishing to join us, please just ask and I'll be with you ASAP.
