The printer CAN be switched off at night, contrary to the manual. It will keep it's WLAN settings, and it does keep it's time.
Switched on: 7W/h
Switched off (with on/off switch on panel): 2W/h
Isn't here a fire risk leaving such things on permanently?
Is 2W/h the same consumption as 1/20th of the consumption of a 40W bulb?0 -
Offer is definately over, called in to Staples today, even though they had piles of them, manager says till price has been changed nationwide...0

Probably. Quite surprised Brother are so adamant that it should be left powered. I mean like, who leaves their stuff switched on 24x7.. All this environmental clap-trap, EU this, dispose of through proper channels, yet in the meantime they're telling users to keep it plugged in and powered on pain of losing all your settings.0 -
just for all those who brought the above printer that there is a firmware update:

Firmware Updated: May 12th 2006
The following improvements are included in this update:
* Improved ink management.
* Corrects index print from Multimedia Card (MMC) issue.
* Network printing reliability improved.0 -
Just to say I bought this printer and for £70 I think it's fantastic value.
Had a few problems with setting up the wireless (probably me) but with a bit of help from TS Aly that was soon overcome.
Sorry for those who missed out.I say what I like, I like what I say!0 -
anyone know where else we can get this printer from?0

Picked one up today in Bedford, SEL said 69.99 but scanned at 139.99. Manager gave it to me at lower price no problem, though he may have removed SEL.
