    how does this work ?
I have a laptop which is wifi enabled, a router which is connected to the pc, how would i get it to connect to the laptop and could it also connect to the pc via usb?
I know these are really stupid questions and are probably in the destruction manual but just wanted to see if it was going to be a real pain to set up
    thanks

You've said it - it's all in the "destruction" manual. Step by step instructions that are virtually foolproof. If your laptop's linked into your network the 340CW will find it. It is possible to connect by UBC - but if you can go wireless why would you?

    Go for it!

I'm not a high output user at the moment and use a multi-function Brother laser but I'm tempted by this.

Can anyone tell me what the consumption is like with inkjets? How many sheets (b&w) would I typically get before needing to replace cartridges?

Also what 's the photo quality like I had planned to get something like an Epson R220, would this be comparable?

Thanks don I'd seen that, I wondered if real world experience differed much with inkjets?

I paid £99.99 in Staples for one of these a few weeks ago, when Argos still had them at £149.00.
This is an excellent printer, 5 pcs all over the house all printing to it ok wirelessly.
And when you scan you can choose which pc to scan to, if you do it from the scanner.
Photos print very well, can't fault it so far.

Try this ebay seller for carts - discountcartridges (No affiliation)
Set of 4 for £10.48 delivered with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

This really is an excellent find (many thanks to OP) and printer!

I collected mine from Stapled Canterbury yesterday and it is now connected to my wireless network - it even supports WPA-PSK encryption.

Longer-term I might run a CAT5 cable to it and use its wired ethernet port to speed things up and reduce traffic on the wireless network but all in all it's great.

also got mine today after a little bit of hassle. Went to one store and they were selling it at £140. Explained to the assistant that they are on offer but would not listen. I just went to another store and luckily they had it on for £69.99

i wanted to ask a question: if you a using a wireless network, do you not need to connect the printer to the main computer via usb ?? I am going to use it as a wireless printer connected to my laptop and for a another pc

No, if used wireless it can be used stand-alone.

In my case this saves having my pc on when the children need to print, I just turn the printer on and hey presto its on the network for all to use.

thanks for this, going to go and buy one if they have any in stock, using the £5 voucher as well that they have for reward points users....

think the fact that it is wireless is great since i will only have a laptop computer in the house but wired to my 26" lcd screen [so a printer would look ugly in the games room i got] and the inks are cheap.... i currently have a hp printer and the inks are a nightmare and cost way too much and my old canon scanner uses a serial cable....
