Thanks to OP and to circuit - I've also picked one of these up at the Kirkstall Road store in Leeds. Really good buy.

does anyone know the price for USB wireless printer adaptors at the moment? i'm tempted to take the printer back and get an adapter instead... just to save money (although this is still a great buy).

staples at crown point in leeds have this model and also a different one for £64.99.

Sorry not terribly techno here - So with these wireless printers, you switch it on, connect to it wirelessly via your wireless network and print?.
But how do you stop the entire street connecting to it and printing from it?

Set up security on your network. Also wireless range is not that great, it will probably only be adjacent neighbours who will be able to see your router.

I've had this printer for a couple of months (paid £99.99 for it just after it was reduced from £139.99). I'm very pleased with it.

    how does this work ?
I have a laptop which is wifi enabled, a router which is connected to the pc, how would i get it to connect to the laptop and could it also connect to the pc via usb?
I know these are really stupid questions and are probably in the destruction manual but just wanted to see if it was going to be a real pain to set up
    thanks

You can pick up compatable cartridges off eBay for a few pounds. I got 6 black and 4 each of the the three colours for £20 all in and they are as good as the originals. Definately cheaper than HP cartridges!

Just wanted to follow up my earlier post (saying that I'd bought one of these machines) to tell you that wireless set up was a dawdle - as long as you read the Quick Setup Guide -and that I'm really, really pleased with the quality of the first test documents I've printed. Still to try the scanning & copy facilities, but I have to say that this seems to be a great little all-in-one that will save me quite a lot of desk space.

Ok, I couldnt resist this either, and bought one just before my local store closed, about 5 left in stock when I bought mine.

Was a bit dubious about setting this all up though, hence my earlier post. I needn't have worried though. Setup was straightforward and very easy.

As for the Wirless network part, I was a bit concerned that setting this was going to be tricky. Again, there really was nothing to worry about!. It detected my wireless network, as well as 3 others in the vacinity!. IE you could probably print to this thing from half a street away. Anyway, make sure you password protect your network. So entered my wireless network password, and that was it.
Final thing was to setup the driver on Windows XP. Again no problems, very straightforward. I've been very impressed so far, printing quality looks excellent too, and I'm glad the replacement cartridges for these are cheap too. As for the All-In-One Lexmark I used to have, thats heading for the skip!.

From opening the box to installing cartridges/testing/ and wireless setup took about an hour.

Thanks very much for this :T
