    Part of my 'history'

No matter how skint you might end up...you'll always have 'things', maybe to use or adapt.

Some things are useful...even if they aren't to me right now.

Some things cost a lot of money to buy originally.

Feel slightly disloyal to Mum for getting rid of her stuff.

Feel slightly guilty at getting rid of things that still function.

Edit to add another one....Feel a bit scared but not sure why....maybe in case I later need the thing I chuck out?

    I do need therapy don't I? :o

I found an old vintage suitcase into it I put the very nice sentimental stuff anything else I closed my eyes and just chucked it in the bin, 3 years later I have not missed a thing ,and when I feel sentimental I just open the old suitcase and treasure the memories .
I now live on a boat at the bottom of my garden' my son lives in the house the attic is empty and the rooms are clear of clutter I feel happier and have not missed a thing and believe me I was always buying vintage items and was on ebay all the time my house was very cluttered and out of control I am now very relaxed, never buy any thing unless I need it and live by one thing in one thing out ,so I would just bite the bullet be very srict with yourself and just chuck it out .

I want to be like this.

But your post has just reminded me of an old brown small suitcase that belonged to my Father during the war...that's up there too.

and why have I got old letters from friends more than 20 years old?

I'm beginning to feel a bit better about this whole thing. Pity it's 9 o'clock at night because I'm a bit more fired up and could probably chuck things out at the moment. No doubt the feeling will go by tomorrow.

    Stacking boxes are good. :D

I have lego, a Brio wooden train set, power rangers, my little ponies, barbie stuff etc etc in stacking ones from Ikea. :D
