The Body Shop- deal of the day bargain

Important to anyone trying to get full price refunds.( A lil naughty me thinks, but who am I to judge)
My sisters local Bodyshop are more than aware of this Glitch , as my sis was in there looking around, gloating at our savings and saw someone bring back 3 huge boxes without the delivery note, trying to get a refund.
The sales girl asked if she had used the 30% code:eek:, and went off to phone someone.
I'm very glad they are checking. Its one thing to buy them cheap but totally another to buy them with the intent to return for profit.0 -
I agree, getting a great bargain is one thing but making profit at the companies expense is quite another.Comping wishlist for 2017

im very happy with my order, the brush set is a bit pants but as it was something for nothing I am not going to complain. The Black Velvet Apricot stuff is lovely, I brought a Home oil fragrance and its burning now in two oil burners and the house smells wonderful.0

I need to return one delivery in it's entirety as it was a duplicate order thanks to their silly system! However, I'm going to take the delivery note and the confirmation email with me, so they can't argue to the toss that I'm trying it on lolIt aint over til I've done singing....0

The Body Shop's T&Cs are clear - no refund without a receipt or delivery note, so they definitely know what you paid for the items. And for refunds, I'd be surprised if the shop staff don't know about offers available online or at those Body Shop at home parties. The shops also sell the Christmas lines at 3 for 2 (though they have a bigger range instore) so they may suggest that any of those items must be exchanged within the same range so the pricing's fair.
I'd be surprised if the person with those boxes and no delivery note left without a severe case of embarrassment if they were trying to exchange or refund at full price.
Anyway to morocha - I wouldn't let this put you off. Loads of folk must have ordered stuff in the heat of the moment and then thought better of it later. So if you have 2 shower gels and 4 body butters and want 3 of each (or you want none of them!) just do it. Many items ordered online are returned because when you actually see it, it's not really what you expected. Shops would rather have a happy customer than one who is disappointed with an order and has been put off from ordering again.
Oh and this is from someone whose family owned a shop for many years and have accepted returns even when we know the item can't or won't be resold and isn't faulty so the manufacturer won't refund the cost to us.
The Body Shop are owned by a huge multinational - their marketing dept will have done many projections of the impact of each online offer knowing that a percentage of online deliveries are returned, just the same as their projections show that the 3 for 2 offer before Christmas will generate more sales than selling this stuff full price now and half price from Boxing Day. (Especially those "£20" feet and body hugs and "£39" brush sets that no-one seems to think are worth the advertised price.) The shops know that they will shift stock because for everyone who is smart about getting a bargain (i.e. buying stuff they can use) there will be many who just buy whatever stock is available BECAUSE IT'S SO CHEAP! And you can't feel bad if this is you, these marketing departments know their psychology.
So:
I hope everyone enjoys their Body Shop stuff.
The person mentioned earlier was taking the p*** if they were trying for a full price refund. (My opinion)
The Body Shop say they will refund or exchange your order, so you can if you want to. (Fact)
The usual advice of "buyer beware" is true for these special deals and the company hope these deals suck you in so you order stuff RIGHT NOW WITHOUT THINING! Any range launched before Christmas and immediately sold at a discount (like the Boots 3 for 2 gifts) are likely to show a full price that few folk would buy at, but that makes the 'deal' price look good. (Fact - see Robert Cialdini's books or anyone else who writes about this stuff)0 -
