Families are all a bit F**ked up Cat, I don't think there is one family out there that doesn't have some kind of incident, history, fruit loop etc!

Too right. I feel shellshocked today - my grandad died yesterday after being ill for a long time - we weren't that close but I am still sad, and I'm so sad for my dad who has to deal with all his siblings inevitable bickering and grudges at this sort of time.. and angry at the family stuff that meant we weren't close.

Luc, glad you are feeling better but do just keep an eye on things after coming off the tablets. I stopped ADs suddenly because I moved house and changed doctors and convinced myself I was fine and didn't need to tell the new doctor about it, wasn't entirely wise in the long run. OH was at docs about coming off his the other day and doc said he wouldn't recommend anyone coming off them at this time of year. Not telling you off - you know yourself and how you feel - just would hate you to be so down again x

She could have it now Becky but I don't want her to have it. Her cousin had the MMR and developed severe Autism (he still doesn't speak at 12 years old) and I don't care what they say he WAS a normal child starting to talk and do things an 18 month does. He changed overnight and was never the same again. Hence why she hasn't had the MMR

    Morning all

Am having a stressful day :( Someone at Bea's school has a confirmed case of Measles and she hasn't had the MMR. Franticly trying to find a clinic that will issue her the single jabs but looks like I might be heading your way Sammy to get them done. grrrrrrrrr (and yes I know I should have got on and got them done already, had that lecture from my mother!)

    I need a run to de-stress

Hope she's OK Sal, can understand your decision re the MMR with that experience.

Fair enough Sally - interesting there have been some seriously duff studies on both sides of that debate, the Cochrane library did and review and summarised:
The design and reporting of safety outcomes in MMR vaccine studies, both pre- and post-marketing, are largely inadequate. The evidence of adverse events following immunisation with MMR cannot be separated from its role in preventing the target diseases.

    http://www.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab004407.html

However, they did also state that upper respitory tract infections were the most common likely side effect that could actually be linked to the jab which is interesting...

Thinking of it - there must be places in London that will do single jabs which is closer than Brum surely...

Good news Snags - great to hear you're on the mend, although why running should be the first thing you could think of I've no idea!! ;) Well I do actually, when I miss aerobics for a week or two my body seems to crave exercise, so I'm only being facetious when it comes to running!

Sorry to hear about the measles issue sally - I hope things work out for the best.

On another matter, you may remember that in my earlier post DH had gone to do a little bit of shopping - GOOD GRIEF!! All that was needed was bread, milk and lettuce. The lettuce was for mexican tortillas we're going to have for tea tonight. The reason for me suggesting this is because we have tortillas to use up, so what does he go and buy?!!

He then went off to the warehouse clearance shop for some little presents and my phone went every 5 minutes - I've seen this for so and so, what do you think? He clearly didn't check the list he had with him to see what we needed and for who! I was pleased at one point though when he himself admitted that he should never go shopping on his own!

  • Hugs_by_MageVivi.gif Hugs all around today for everyone, especially Squizz, Cat and Sally....

I went to work this morning even though I was feeling really rough. Got everything ready (the place was a tip which is usual when a certain person closes the previous day) then a customer came in and had a huge arguement with me. Only he is a regular and took it to a personal level. I had had enough at that point and left work, obviously letting HR know. Now I am just waiting to go to weigh in as my cdc's phone has been engaged for over an hour

Going to wrap up warm later and be in bed really early, I have had enough of life today
