Delia's on Woman's Hour this morning - I missed the TV programme, so will have to imagine the treats as they're described this morning!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0 -
I watched it. Made me feel a bit festive but TBH she uses so much cream and butter it's pointless me trying to make anything - my H won't touch any of that stuff
It is a one off show by the way. If you've missed it then it's probably be on BBC Iplayer.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
I was just coming on to say that Delia's on Woman's Hour on Radio 4 now. The programme is 10am - 11am.0

hmmm mine's exactly the same, Bitsy.
Cream, creamy/cheesey sauces, custards, milk puddings, chicken supremes etc - no chance in this house! But strangely enough he will eat a posh Ice Cream.0 -
I watched it but in all honesty those who has a "delia christmas" can afford to pay someone to make it for them. The rest of us sweat over the hob & are completely stressed!!! And I swear her turkey is never cooked through! What happened to 20 minutes per LB of meat!?0

Most people overcook chicken/turkey. Nigella goes for 15mins/lb meat +10mins at the end at 200 degrees C0 -
I really enjoyed it, I found it very relaxing and Christmassy, I think the only recipe I would try though was the vegetarian roulade as I don't think the family would eat food with so much booze in.
The only thing I found odd was she said she was trying to encourage people to cook Christmas dinner for the first time and then mentions things like barley wine, like we would all have that in the cupboard and also there was no explanation how you could steam your Christmas pudding unless you had a proper steamer like she did, I think it may put people off thinking they had to buy so much new stuff.0 -
I'm going to have to watch it again because I want to make the red cabbage but the recipe for that isn't on the BBC site.0

I enjoyed it and I'm going to do the blackened bacon joint this weekend when 8 friends and family come over. I'll let you know how it turns out0
