Every time I think of Delia's Christmas shows, it reminds me of that Alistair McGowan's big impressions sketch where Delia's filming crew demand she makes her show "more sexy", so she dresses a chicken in stockings and suspenders. It gets me every time. :rotfl:

My name is Woofles and I have the cheats cookbook.:o

Actually I quite like it, I look at it this way, if it gets someone into the kitchen to cook who has felt daunted before all the better.

I like Delia, yes she can be a little pedantic and I'm not above saying 'for heavens sake use the processor', but I have never had one of her recipies fail on me yet.
Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

apologises for spelling mistakes - google toolbar and I have had a hissy fit and I've lost me spell checker.
  • I loved the original series. I remember years ago I made the chocolate torte from the series. I even managed to get the liquid glucose. Can you stil get it from anywhere. I'm sure I got it from a chemist:confused:

Ill be watching. Only for the giggles as she points out the bloody obvious and patronises the public like they are idiots who couldn't turn a cooker on. Lol, it will be like being 6 again and listening to my gran.
  • Northwest1965, I swear I've seen liquid glucose in Tescos in the baking section!

I would like to watch this, but DH and I have a guilty pleasure, which is I'm a Celebrity on ITV at the same time :o:o:o:o and we don't have sky or the posh freeview that you can record with - does anyone know if it'll be repeated at all...?(Flippin "Celebrity" - it's taken over my life! I'm already watching Top Gear and CSI Miami repeats where will it end )

It will probably be available on I-player from tomorrow.

    It's only a game

Yes, I lost some respect for her when she did her cheats thing. not that I was a huge fan of hers, but it did seem a bit, i dunno. Not right. !

I will watch it though, see if she has handy tips . I have loads to learn!

I love Delia and I loved her Cheats book - so there :p;)

The Cheats book is great for a weekeday evening to chuck some things together and have a yummy dinner - better than beans and fish fingers every night!

I do also ahve some of her other books if that'll be enough to redeem me? I play with these on a weekend.

I'll be watching it on iPlayer as I'm already recording two other programmes at that time :o

    Hello,

Is Delia's new Christmas book just a re-hash of the old one or are there some different recipes in it ?

I've got the old one so don't want to buy the new one if its the same.

    Thanksw

The Book People are selling Delia's new Christmas book for £9.99 but just checked on the website and it's now out of stock. Those of you wishing to buy you might like to keep checking incase they get some more stock in.

I might watch but I must confess I find Delia a bit tedious and stuffy. I much prefer watching Nigella as she just oozes enthusiasm - I don't find her smug at all. Her Christmas book is lovely to read (I pinch my mum's copy to get me in the festive mood!).
