Tell him not to be late back from his break.
As he is on probation still he needs to be extra vigilant, make sure he obeys all the rules and improve his time keeping.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I would be surprised if he is dismissed. More likely he will be given a warning and someone will be keeping an eye on his timekeeping for the next few weeks.
What he needs to do is to be apologetic in the meeting, promise to improve and then actually do it. That last part will be the most important as if he has only worked there for 6 months, it is relatively easy for him to be dismissed if he doesn't improve.0 -
Your husband should go in and shout about their breach of contract and state it is their own fault for not having big enough clocks for them all to see.

I advise him to start getting back early from his break, be repentant when they have the meeting, apologise profusely and don't let it happen again.0 -
Not everybody gets a break at all. He's on probation so needs to go easy on everything. If it were me I'd be trying to get back 3-5 minutes early.0

It may only be 1 or 2 minutes but he should be extra vigilant of the time. I always used to aim to make my way back to the locker room or the clock in machine so ive got 5 minutes left. AHs he got a watch or a mobile phone he could set the alarm on so he has 5 or 10 minutes spare to get ready for work0

They are nitpicking over 1 or 2 minutes?! Jesus.0

They are nitpicking over 1 or 2 minutes?! Jesus.
And why shouldn't they? The employer is paying the employee for the time so I don't see anything wrong with them insisting on punctuality. Anyway, when do you feel it ceases to be "nitpicking" - 3 / 5/ 10 / 30 minutes late?
If you're on probation then you know you are under the microscope so why take chances?
OP's husband should apologise in the meeting and then aim to get back from his future breaks early to show he has learnt the error of his ways.:hello:0 -

Don't worry he will spin the other way later.0
