Most local CPL and small shelters do deals with local vets for treatment. There is also a scheme by national CPL that helps all CP shelters purchase cheaper drugs and treatments.
OP poster you have done as much as you can and have done the best you can for the cats. Good luck and you should feel proud of yourself0 -
xxamypixx....This story WILL have a happy ending, because someone who is really devoted to cats will take on little Noah and give him a pampered life full of love.
I think you have made some very brave decisions...and maybe have to make some more. However we look at it having a pet, or several pets IS a luxury. I have 4, all getting older ( and not insured !! ) and it is my big luxury in life. I have made sacrifices including cancelling a recent holiday to accomodate a sick cat and the ensuing bills and I have often worked over time to put a little extra away for future problems.
Not everyone wants to make that kind of call and it sounds like you are young and with lots of changes coming up in life so maybe 4 cats is not a good idea for you.
Also...although I too cherished the idea of my little cat family,,,actually the mother has hated her kittens since she weaned them and they are pretty much indifferent to each other. Lots of cats prefer being the only pampered puss in a family rather than just one more in the gang.
Whatever way you choose, Good Luck!0 -

Thanks, it means a lot.
Yes I am only 22 and so although I look after the cats the most, it is my Dad who will ultimately have them when I (hopefully!!) go to uni next year. He loves them too but they are a big cost.
I wish the Mum had disliked the kittens but the whole family are lovely together - they all help to clean eachother, they play together and sleep together - so sweet!
My Dad said that someone else can love him and for the timebeing, I can give the other cats even more of my love!Saving for Uni!

Just thought everyone might want to see my cats - I have the best photo of them! I went travelling over the Summer and missed them so much and my Dad managed to send this photo to me as a card as I was away for my birthday. Inside the card was signed from all of my family and the cats too! Apparently it took them ages to get the photo!

Oh my, they are a gorgeous looking bunch. Which one is Noah? The BIG black one has to be the Daddy!0

Thanks for keeping updating Amy, it's great to hear that you are feeling good about your decision, even if sad about little Noah. :A Gorgeous photos, you have done a great job being their foster family to date.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Big black one is the Dad - Puss or Big Puss.
Big tabby is the Mum - Catkin or Mumsa
Little tabby is Noah - or Tabster
Black one with spot is Bongo or "Spot"
Black without spot is Bingo or Donut!
Names change constantly and they all have their own little quirks!Saving for Uni!

what lovely cats. I have such a soft spot for Tabby's and Black cats so you've covered both bases there. Gorgeous cats and all in one picture. I'd never get our 4 in the same picture.0

Just read your thread- I think you sound like a great cat mummy.
Think you made the best decision for Noah- rest assured if he does have his leg amputated he will cope just fine.
My cat Chester was rehomed from the RSPCA at 9 months, he came to us but got in a fight with a car at age 2-:embarasse they tried to fix his leg but ended up taking it off.
He is absolutely fine though- He will be celebrating his 16th birthday in April :T(with his 21 year old cat sister LOL)- he's just getting a bit fat now he's getting slower!!:D
I am sure Noah will do great- rest assured with 3 legs he will soon find a lovely home as he'll stand out from the crowd!!0 -
Most local CPL and small shelters do deals with local vets for treatment.
My local CPL gets charged full price for any treatment. Also, a small family run rescue centre local to me gets no funding help from anywhere when it comes to treating strays and unwanted animals. Because they are already registered as a charity, they are not allowed to access other charity funds, so they are unable to have free neutering of animals, or use local blue cross animal hospitals.
I'm just trying to make people aware of the difficulties faced by these animal charities. They are not a never ending pot of cash and so only should be accessed at a last resort.
Some vets do offer payment schemes by the way. So if you are unable to pay your bill in full, you can cut it to smaller managable payments.0
