The OP hasn't once suggested it's anyone else's 'responsibility to bail her out' as you so tactfully put it, her family have been struggling with these foster kittens and now she has asked for help. Regardless of whether she rehomed in month one or or now in month nine there would be the same number of cats needing care and there would still be the same number of rescues overflowing.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Oh, I was so hoping that you may be in London or can easily get here - now I see you are n Devon.
In London we have Celia Hammond, a charity that provides very cheap vet care for cats specifically.
My friend's cat was run over nce, broken pelvis and leg, they treated him to full health for about 5% of what Goddard was asking for.
Let us know how the kitty is?

Try to ignore it: you saved Puss from being out last winter, poor Catkin was presumably stray and pregnant during the awful snow!
Back to practicalities - the boys urgently need to be neutered and you may be able to get vouchers from Cats Protection or PDSA. At the moment they are at risk of catching FIV or FeLV or getting some other poor little female pregnant. Have they all been vaccinated?
Please do think hard about whether you have the money to keep the whole family long term: five are very expensive to feed, pet insurance, vaccine boosters, flea and worm treatment. Also you say you live with your dad - are you going to be able to keep all five for the next ten to twenty years? Most rental properties won't accept five cats. A rescue would ideally want to home two kittens together so they don't have to all be split up. :T
I know there have been some replies on the Purrsinourhearts thread, and there should be more in the morning so keep checking back if you can. PM me if you want or join Purrs and post (all lovely people there).
I did bring up the subject with Dad of whether we should keep the rest of the cats as obviously they are a huge expense, but they are so lovely! He has said that we will deal with this problem at the moment, and then we will all need to have a good think about the others.
Puss (the dad) is, we think, one of our neighbour (2 dorrs away) cats, but they have denied it. However, we are sure he used to live there and he does occasionally pop over there! The Mum is the spitting imae of a cat that also lives there and who occasionally pops in to our garden but, again, the neighbours deny it. They are not very nice people and I am sure that they have realised that if they denied it then they could have the occasional visit by the cat but we would deal with food/vets etc. Lovely people!
The kittens are all vaccinated. I am going to uni next year, a brother is also and the other brother is going travelling for a year and so I think we do seriously need to think about giving the cats up.Saving for Uni!

Thanks, yes I will keep you updated. I have just had to drop him at the vets for general anaesthetic and x-ray so we will know more soon. Burst in to tears at the vets - poor man didn't know what to do!Saving for Uni!

Well done, honey, you are doing the best for them all I am sure. I bet they are lovely, it's often the nicest cats that end up as strays as your two did, I don't understand it.My Noah has made such a difference to my life so something good has come out of something bad! Do you think your dad could hold onto Puss and Catkins?

Well, we have Puss and Catkin chipped as ours and they are very easy to look after - they are very housetrained whereas the kittens seemed to be but then started weeing everywhere! I think as well that if we can give the kittens away then hopefully they may stay together.
The vet just called and said that it is a bad break and the only option may be amputation. She is going to call CPL for me as she thinks she will be able to explain better but CPL told me that they were full at the moment.Saving for Uni!

The weeing everywhere might be to do with marking territory as you have three entire males. Do you have sufficient litter trays for five cats? The recommendation is one tray per cat plus one spare as some cats don't like to share, some like to wee and poo in different trays, some will guard the trays so others are scared to go to the toilet (even if they are normally good friends).
Do pop over and read your thread on Purrs you have got a few replies with ideas of how to get help with the leg, and it may be worth you posting yourself to see if any smaller rescue can help take the kittens off your hands. It really would be the best time as they are easier to home when young.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
The kittens are all vaccinated and the adults are chipped: these are not the actions of totally irresponsible owners, even accidental ones.
I've got everything crossed over here for a positive outcome for Noah. the other pusscats and for you and your obviously caring family.0 -

Thanks. It is nice to hear that because I feel like I have really let him down by not getting insurance. However, even if we did have insurance, we would still have 5 cats and this is too much and I guess his accident has really brought that home to us.
It is just so sad that we decided to keep them in the first place as I thought we were doing a good thing but it just doesn't seem that way now.Saving for Uni!

Don't beat yourself up, no cat [STRIKE]owner[/STRIKE] slave gets everything 100% perfect but you have done as much as you could. Any more news on little Noah?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
