A Drayton Lifestyle LP722 is a GAS central heating controller.
But you now say you don't have gas.
Winter is approaching so it would be a good idea to figure out how to turn on the heating, as a lack of gas supply could adversely its effectiveness.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Dont know what a water heater is.

You appear to have been at that property at least 10 months now, and you don't know what is what or how to use the heating and/or hot water controls?

Contact the landlord or his agent and ask them for a full explanation, preferably in the form of written user instructions that you can refer to again later if needs be.

Also ask them to confirm what services are connected and who is responsible for paying those service suppliers.

If you do have gas, even if you are not responsible for paying for it directly, you should also have a copy of a valid landlord's gas safety certificate.

If you don't have gas, get them to explain why you have a gas central heating controller in your property.

You say you 'don't get a gas bill'. Is there a gas supply to the property? Is there a gas meter? Have you registered for a gas account?

You think this thread is funny?

You really should take a look at the other threads this user has started ;)
    (there's only about 10)

Each on their own is good. But read in conjunction with each other...

yes i have moved to new property.
dont think there is gas meter, i was told it was all electric.
i asked letting agent to explain how to use use hot water controls, he refused saying its not his job.
I turned off the automatic heating system controls from the mains as i dont need to use hot water daily.
so i just turn two switches on when i need hot water. I have no need to use radiators.

the hot water controls manual i even read, but could not work out
NOBO orion 512 system 500, its turned off at mains all the time now.
so i just manually turn on two switches and hot water beings to get hot.
    Plumber said this is ok.

no have not registered for gas account. its all electric with npower.

Does two hours of switching it on, and it not being TOO hot, sound like its not set to full?

Its taken 47 posts for you to reveal that you have moved.
How do you expect people to be able to help if they don't know that simple but essential fact.
Perhaps it would have been better to have started a new thread that described your present situation.
If the immersion has been on for a couple of hours and its not got your water hot then carefully turn the thermostat up to maximum (turn the electricity off at the mains before removing the cover)
If no better then the tank is furred up or the immersion is faulty and you need an electrician.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • sorry, i was thinking of starting a new thread, but as knowledgable people were gathered on this related thread already, i thought to stay here.

put hot water on for 3 hours today, it was noticable a bit hotter than when on for 2 hours.
but still not overly hot where you have to mix with cold water.
and i noticed a low buzzing sound from the mains box when i switch the hot water on.
do not know if this is a warning sign.

might try switching hot water on for 4 hours next time.

in my old house the water was excessively hot in just one hour, and the thermostat was 60degrees.

i dontthink i can turn my current switch any further, it doesnt seem to budge, and the whole thing is being strained when i try to twist further.

are you on an economy 7 or 10 tariff?, it is likely that the immersion element is controlled via a timeclock, which could be out of sync.....?? what time of the day are you adjusting it?

more info please then we may be able to help.
