Boots in Whitchurch, Shropshire have loads of haircare stuff reduced to half price (Trevor Sorbie, Aussie, Toni & Guy), and other bits around the store - Royal Jelly bath stuff etc - BUT they have put a big red cross in marker pen across the bar code (didnt notice until I got home) so no good for Christmas presents :mad: . Might take the ones I got for gifts back.

Could you take the stuff out of it's packaging and put it into gift baskets? For extra pressie value you could use pot pouri instead of straw or tissue to support the items, and then cover all with cling film and maybe a ribbon bow.

I'm assuming a red cross across the barcode means it's been reduced in a sale? Will the people you are thinking of giving them to know that? I know my family/friends wouldn't! Couldn't you just put your own sticker over the bar code?

Boots 3 for 2 is out in store as well, for toys, gifts etc.
I saw them stocking the shelves yesterday and asked.

The idea Seakay posted is a great one, my mum has been doing this for years - making really personalised gift baskets.

Another one is nail polish remover = if you're gentle, you can often remove the marker pen...
