d1965 - try £250 each as a minimum - but you could always put some i n savings for them for when they get their own place.

Gemmzie, sorry to hear that, glad you're ok.

d1965 £25 a week is waaaay to low, a rough guide is supposed to be 1/3 of pay. I suggest you draw up two budgets - one what they'd pay in a flat on their own - include rent, all bills, food etc, and then one with what you provide and how much you're asking for. I bet I know which'll look the most attractive!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

When I lived at home and was earning I used to pay market rate for my room but all my food/bills were included - mum just charged me based on ads in the paper for shared houses in my area...she also gave me some of it back when I moved out for a deposit - used to pay about £50 a week, but then I didnt earn much either (just under £15k)...

Gemmzie - i hope you're okay doll... and sorry to hear about the car. I know you loved your motor.... but that's what insurance is for.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
