How about sending a Christmas card to some PPCs and Clampers?

Put a stamp on if you want to be sure of delivery, or try using a low-value stamp if you hope they'll have to collect their mail & pay for it (your call!). Do NOT use your workplace franking machine or send them off to the Post Room (quite apart from not being work-related, these could be traced back to you!).

Write 'check enclosed' on the back of the envelope (deliberate spelling suggested by peter_the_piper)!

Include wording about a fine for not displaying it on the mantelpiece and a fine for actually opening it! 'Your fingers have illegally parked on our card.' Remembering to make the fine cheaper if they pay sooner ;) also an appeals process needs to be available to them (suggested by anewman)!

'If you open this card, you will automatically incur a £70 parking charge. Failure to pay this charge may result in legal action' (suggested by biscuitdunker)! Threaten them with debt collectors if they do not pay (thanks to usignuolo)!

Finally, say 'for all appeals concerning this card, telephone 01382 227820' (which is the Tesco parking 'helpline')! (thanks to trisontana)

Dont forget the chequered fringe on the envelope! (thanks to niall24)

My suggestion for Christmassy wording is 'wishing you an unprosperous New Year from all on the parking ticket forums at MSE' (and pepipoo if you frequent both forums).

So now we need some proper addresses where the PPCs are likely to open their post. I will update this list as and when I can, here are the addys we have so far:

What better way to use up those grotty cards no-one else wants?:D:T

P.S. any decision to send a card is down to you - but make sure no paperwork shows your details. This post does not form any contract with anyone and is posted without prejudice
(I was, of course, not the driver at the time). :D

Just remember they don't HAVE to pay for these. They can refuse delivery - and if the campaign takes off certainly will.

But they won't be delivered to the premises. They will get a card from Royal Mail saying that there is postage to pay and they will have to visit the sorting office to pick up the letter and pay the fee. They might ignore all those RM cards, but a "genuine" letter, containing an actual cheque might be waiting for them. Will they take that risk?

Just like the fake parking tickets and "legal" notices you get from the PPCs.

But I am sure everyone has some crappy Christmas cards and envelopes left over from last year. The sort you wouldn't even send to you worst enemy. They would do.

which then makes you just as bad as them

I send very few Christmas cards and wouldn't waste my money on 'crappy' ones anyway

You must be better than us. We used to buy a box of cheap assorted cards and then regret it because they look good value until you find there are a few cards that are terrible. I know that's not being a very good "Money Saver", but we have learned our lesson and now just buy cards which we know we are going to send.
