I'm the same, just assumed matter was ended but checked my account today and they took the money yesterday!!!!!

I missed out on this, and glad I didn't hear about it until too late as it's not being honored. But regarding whether or not Tesco has to send it out if they've taken money and then refunded it, I think they don't.

I'm not certain about this, but when the Amazon glitch for the xbox happened a couple of months ago, we all got confirmation emails and then cancellation emails. I think we had been charged, too. A few people said Amazon didn't have to honor the price unless or until the item was actually dispatched to us. And then wonder of wonders, it was dispatched! And the price was honored! So I think once a store has mailed it they have to meet the agreed upon price, but not before.

* Retailer advertises game at £XX (mis-price or not), which is an invitation to treat.
* Consumer places order, thus making an offer for item.
* Retailer can then either cancel order (refusing your offer) or charge you for the item(s) which is their acceptance of offer, and forming of a contract.

this is taken from an email from trading standards, tesco have their own t and c's but these dont overule the consumer laws, by the way the new development is that now tesco are denying taking any money, even though i have had it confirmed by my cc company, and a manager told me yesterday at tesco the exact time it was taken, no refund as yet for me today, its obvious they have been told to deny taking the money as money taken means contract formed, of course i wont get my game, not interested in it anymore but i am concerned about companies being able to do what they please, companies make mistakes, of course they do but they also have to be responsable for the consequences of the mistakes they make, i know i do. tesco are not handleing this very well, taking peoples money on the promise they wont, then denying just causes irrate people, and there really was no need for this to happen

I had the money taken out of my bank but then received the money back in my account a little while later but i agree with the above post tesco's really haven't handle this in the right way at all.

Fair enough they made an error but if you make a mistake you should at the very least apologise for the inconvience, esp seeing as some people havent even got their money back.

As for them denying they even took the money, how can their make such a stupid claim, soo many of us have bank statements showing the money was taken so to say this is only going to make more people cross thus creating a worse situation.

if yours wont work why dont you email them and find out why? many people said they didnt work, i cant comment on that as i wont be using mine, and cant give it out as if you accept voucher by using it it will look like you accept all that has gone on! and i have a complaint ongoing, sorry
