Anyone else lost their entire family to Top Gear? (Pulling out own teeth smilie.)
Even my preteen daughters are fans. No idea why.
Oh yes I do. It's Richard Hammond. !!!!!!.
Time to do some marking, methinks.
We move back next July and the telly is going to be like a big elephant in the room. I am not anti telly, just I got out of the habit of having it. Iplayer is great as I only make time to watch things that are at a high intellectual level (like Ugly Betty and Have I Got News) and I discovered forums and things. Way Hay...much better use of my downtime.:D0 -
I have to stay up late; until my parents go to bed I can't watch TV, nor listen to it. All channels chosen are cack (same news over and over and over again; Harry Hill's Burp as often as it's on; Weakest Link every time ....) it's driving me mad. And, with one deaf, it's at a level of noise that makes it unbearable.
So, all I have to do is stay up later than them and I can watch TV, listen to it (at a reasonable level) and relax... mostly up until 4-7am now.
Although, I did buy a slide scanner and have scanned in all 1500 slides right from when I was born to when the camera was nicked in about 1978. Now going through them all cleaning them up, next need to gorup them together into sequences, dates, subjects ... before finally turning them into grouped slideshows, getting them onto DVD somehow, then setting up a DVD player so mum/dad can watch them all again. Without this they'd have never seen them ever again (they need a projector/screen setting up and lots of time to go through). So when I've finished they'll potentially be able to watch them on TV on demand.
I seem to have spent the first 14 years of my life sitting on a beach making sandcastles ...0 -

Could I borrow the slide scanner when you're done with it? On the same lines actually.0 -

I love Top Gear, its one of my favourite TV programmes. Still, I am a total petrolhead and this year I got my best Christmas present since that bike when I was 12 - a session driving a Ferrari round Silverstone. I've also booked a trip to Maranello later next year to visit Ferrari. 2010 is going to be brilliant! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Oh alright then... DH says he will go round faster than me. Of course he will, I'll be the one stringing it out, making it last as long as possible, signalling as I go round Copse and looking for give way signs where the courses cross and taking in the luxury interior. He, on the other hand, will scream the nuts off of it (apparently that's a technical term). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Oh wow! I keep dropping hints to my kids about having one of those driving days......they point out the weird inflatable ball thing instead! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I have always wanted to one of those 2.
Worse. I bought a Celica years back and got a freebie with it and, then, didn't have the childcare. time etc to take it up. How doh is that??
So for a great ''Meet up maybe dayout'' ....... one day.....we all go tear it up in Supercars @ BrandsHatch or similar.
Bagsey the one with the lepoard look interior ;-)0 -
