would love to see the who at some point

I followed The Who a lot in my youth, and I have the tinnitus to prove it! The Marquee Club was never designed for that kind of amplification.

Last saw them in Bristol in 2006; thought it would probably be the last time, but you never know.

Worse. I bought a Celica years back and got a freebie with it and, then, didn't have the childcare. time etc to take it up. How doh is that??

So for a great ''Meet up maybe dayout'' ....... one day.....we all go tear it up in Supercars @ BrandsHatch or similar.

Bagsey the one with the lepoard look interior ;-)

What do members of the coven who can't drive do?

Do I have to fly on my broomstick? ;)

Or do these things take (very scared) passengers?

I got my parents an Epson v300 for xmas to scan their slides and negs as the reviews of the standalone scanners were pretty poor until you paid over 150 quid - will report back when they have started.

Slide scanners are cheaper because they just do the one job, sometimes only one frame at a time, but the Epson will do batches, as well as all the other copying tasks too. I have a V700 which I picked up cheaply, but I'm waiting on a new hard drive before beginning what looks like an horrendously long job. (Really, I'm putting it off!):o

I'm sure the 300 or 700 will copy excellently. Unfortunately, some of my slides and photos from yesteryear don't have the quality to start with!

ETA: Yes, Carol, you can be driven around Silverstone and other tracks by 'experts' with some of the experience-type adventure vouchers I've seen recently. Bought one for my nephew; it had a choice of six different things, so seemed a safe buy.

What resolution does that get on slides? The one I got says it's 5 megapixels, creating jpgs of 400-700kb. I have about 800MB of them now scanned in.

The slide holder held three at a time, so I just had to drop 3 slides into 3 slots, click the case shut, then shove the holder into the scanner until it clicked, then it did some automatic light adjustment, then I'd click "get picture" and push the slides in until the next click. So it was quite a quick/easy way to do it really. Just relentless.

It did handle those slides in cardboard, the ones in plastic and some really old ones in quite chunky plastic cases.

I was pleased with the speed and functionality.... just the photo editing software not loading/working meant I was fiddling for 4 hours before I just drove it as a standalone unit. So, having just scanned them in without seeing them fully on the screen (just through a 3" square scanning window), each one is just how it came out... but having them all will mean I know what there is and which might be ones to try again to capture better.

Mine too, and I'm a bit hairy in the ones from the late 60s early 70s! Not many of those though; hippies didn't go in for stuff like cameras. A great shame, as there's so much I wish I'd filmed.

A group of us did make silent (musical soundtrack only) films around 1967-69. If I could get hold of those it would be amazing, but there's no knowing if they still exist, or where the main maker/editor person is now.

    Sounds brilliant fun!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm doing a special Coven riding tuition thing. I've told the special girl she's got a first time rider visiting soon and she's practising plodding. :)

Hope everyone had a good Christmas. :)
