Just had another major flurry, had made the move to go out and get some much needed shopping, which was fun on the roads around here but not too bad the closer to the supermarket I got.
After the supermarket, decided to say hello to my parents and the snow just fell down as I was finishing my cup of tea, so we made the decision to make the move home again.....getting back to mine was as much fun as going out!
Kids have made their snowman, we have had oodles of snowball fights, taken nearly a hundred photos and generally had a really fun, stressfree (apart from the driving part) day.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

It's stopped again. A few little patches left on the ground, and the puddles are still frozen, but nothing near coverage. The forecast isn't predicting any more, either. The kids will be disappointed.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Thanks lemon for your support. Certainly your advice is the way I am going to go on this.0

The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.
Very prettily written.
I think it can also be fear of change though. From the outside you can't, and don't need to, tell. Neither can the kids probably. If it breaks down the kids still have two parents and a family. Its a tricky balance but the relationship between a husband & wife is both spearate from and intrinsic to a family.....part of why its important to keep kids out of negotiations of breakdown...not just to protect them IMO.
I wish them luck.0 -
The Snow's stopped however it's extremely icy out there.
Earlier my Car developed a mind of it's own whilst travelling at low speed and nearly hit someones front wall.
Steered into the skid and managed to stop it in time. I think I need a 4wd in this weather.
be careful.
Have to say, I'm glad to have the LR now.
Have a long drive in the morning and undecided whther to go in my parents' car for speed/warmth or the truck for safety....think will have a look at the roads in the morning before deciding.0 -
For FC.....
I've just seen something better than my cats watching eastenders.....my dog watching one man and his dog......I wish I could get the camera to upload, I'd take one of those little clips.....
oh, oh, she's just knocked one of the cats off the sofa.....the sheep NEver fight back.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »All my Xmas trees HAVE to have chocolates hanging on them. The hollow ones, the santas ... xmas choccies on the tree. The reason for this is when I was young I apparently sneaked down when everybody else was asleep and ate ALL the chocolates off the xmas tree, so after that we never had them again. So now, on my tree, every year, they're compulsory!
There is a tale in my family that when I was 2 (1st grandchild) I found my way to grandparents tree and came into kitchen with blood pouring out my mouth as I had sneaked up and crunched up a few glass baubles (thinking they had chocolate in as my grandfather had given me one sneakily prior, as I had never eaten it before).
I don't think my father ever spoke to him again.
I don't have a chocolate addiction (but plenty of others) so may be the reason for it??
OH bought chocolate santas from M+S years ago when kids were small, hung them on tree and then, on Xmas day, they were allowed to take them off......but both couldn't unwrap them and they were hard. Turned out to be wooden santas. We still have them and, as we put them on the tree, remember that moment. The choc free Xmas day.0 -
FC, I like chocolate but I think its over done. But those two stories of chocolate Christmas disappointment are very sad.0

Man LIr.....your brain is deff on the mend. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
BTW...coming down your way end Jan...I will PM you in a couple of weeks...I want a go on a horse.
Ginger ''the rescue cat who still has issues..after 9 years '' really wanted to go out for his morning constitution...I opened the door and he looked at 1 foot of snow, put his paw in it and you'd have thought it was fire. He pulled it back sharpish, He held on all day (I nearly gave in and did him a special tray) but, did go out this evening for 20 seconds.
He is a bit miserable too as he usually pops over to the Palace of Versailles interior house to see Daphne and get a bit if untwitchy lap in the afternoon...plus they have their heating on all day.
He didn't go today as he didn't want to put his paws in the snow..
I might pop up an avatar later of derelict cottage in the snow..it's so pretty, though bluddy freezing.0
