No need, just pop over to Old Style with just the dust from your hoover, one teaspoon of flour and an egg and you can feed your family for a week!

Do they cater for annoying, fickle teenagers? :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Do a search for "how to mince your own meat", then "meatballs".

    .

Have just been out to remove snow from path in front of house, and I won't go out again for a couple of hours, until it warms up a little (it us still snowing, although only a bit).

    News flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phone call from sis-in-law. He`s back, hmmm. Well it was theory 2 I guess. One night stand, got out of hand, turned his head. She still loves him and what ever makes her happy.

Not sure that the kids are very pleased, which kind of surprises me. Guess I ain`t thought it through. At least he understands that he has a lot of bridge building to do. It will take time........

Blimey Pobby...not sure I could to be honest.

Well in fact, I couldn't, hence now being divorced (mind you, it was more to do with what he said rather than what he did post affair).

Well, we have had our snowball fight, had a break and warmed up and now the kids are building a snowman except for eldest who has just received news that they are still doing the Christmas dinner at his school even though the school is shut for lessons...never seen him so excited to be going to school!

No I can see a LOT of bridge building ahead. Tbh, I am not sure the 2 kids are happy about this. Niece packed her bags last night and I guess stayed at a friends and the young is not so pleased either. Gonna have to think about the stay with them at the new year. I know he is expecting a load of grief from us but there`s no point in sticking our noses in.

Let`s hope Mrs. P is a bit happier. She has a big work load, a cold and has been depressed with all that`s been happening.

No work for her the weekend so I think a bottle of wine and a meal out could help.

    Interesting news Pobby.

My tuppence worth if I may be so bold.

Leave them to it where possible. Be supportive, but avoid involvement in any way. Allow them to make their own choices. I generally feel that 90-odd% of hassle is caused by other people sticking their noses in. & this can also cause greif/resentment.

Obviously there can be times where you have to get involved (eg to prevent violence)

The big word is compromise. Everyone has to do it, & avoid rubbing someones nose in it, as it is rarely helpful (though can feel good at times!)

& also acknowledge. Acknowledge both the bad (that was wrong), but also the good (it took guts to hold your hands up).

From your point of view, let your family make their own mistakes, knowing that whatever, you love them & will support them.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

It has now started snowing here (SW). It's settling slightly but nothing significant yet.

I'm very glad it didn't snow yesterday when I was driving a hired transit up and down the M5. Today all the driving I'll need to do is into the centre of town to pick my kids up from the school trip to the pantomime.

I'll have to see whether my son wants to play in the snow - it could be tricky to work out how to guarantee that the plaster on his broken arm stays dry.

PS Pobby - I have friends who split up after his affair and reconciled some time later. They seem very happy together now, but I think they both worked very hard at it, and each sorted out a lot of personal baggage as well as dealing with what had happened in the relationship.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
