    Yada yada.......

Who is taking charge of Sue's summer holiday fund?

SJay you have been suspiciously silent.

I would be totally comfortable with you in charge. In fact I would sleep at night knowing you had access to my current account.
Don't be.... I have convictions for that sort of thing :D

I'm flittting between here & facebook for the first time in ages- god I hate that site  :rotfl:

Stevie, they go on holiday at the same time to help with the boys/keep me sane/provide the odd glass of wine.

Carolt - We have looked for the same site but no private hires left at a reasonable cost and through the site is very expensive even with my parents 25% discount as owners.

Sue, what is unreasonable cost, can you have a look and tell us?

Sue, theres no need to look at something like rejoining a support group as admitting to failure- its not like you are signing yourself into a rehab centre (not saying rehab is a failure either but hope YSWIM) :)

Support groups are there to do exactly that - support all members. You wouldn't be joining in to 'take, take, take' or announce yourself as not coping or inferior- you will also be joining to help other members:
*those with younger children who might want advice on handling pre-schoolers or primary age kids- you've done that
*advice on re-starting their education, increasing their knowledge- you've done that
*support for those recently separated, considered leaving a bad r'ship- you've done that

I also notice at every opportuinity you refer to your background- what you once were- status, how you used to perceive yourself. Sorry if I'm out of order pointing that out but it comes across to me like a virtual mill stone around your neck :(

I know its not easy accepting that actually no-one else really gives a fcuk (in the way you think :o) about how life has turned out for you (as it does most of us :A).... you are your own harshest critic / judge, and its surely doing you no favours. No need to get that stick out at every opportunity :)

Again, sorry if comes across as harsh - my intentions are genuine :o

It may be harsh but it is also spookily true...I am my harshest critic and yes, I do always compare myself now to how I used to be. It can also be handy though when there are people using the old single parent, never worked thing....I can hold my head up high and say I was a success..once.

I hate failure, I am a bit of a taskmaster and demand perfection in all that I do...I can't help it, it's the way I am and it does do more harm than good sometimes, I admit I can get a bit OCD about it :D

At times I think my brother and sister just can't be my siblings as they don't have the same ambition gene, they are perfectly happy to sit in dead end jobs not going anywhere and run a mile from any kind of promotion they are offered, whereas I have always grabbed the progression and promotion in both hands.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

wageslave, I don't know whether Sue would welcome this - maybe she would. But the idea of a random group of people who only know each other by a 'username' and are situated right across the British Isles, organising something on this scale sounds fraught to me and is beyond my scope, I'm afraid.

My suggestion sounds, to me anyway, the most logical way forward.
    :(

Treliac you are a social worker?

We all come at problems in ways we recognise. I look for solutions within the community and this, for better or worse, is the community.

What's the risk to Sue? Some useless git doesn't post their tat?

But they will Treliac. Think about it. We are a relatively small bunch on here and as far as I can see (and I am no fool) decent people. They don't do what they promise they are lost to this board. I am willingly to gamble my ebay account they will follow through. Admittedly, I couldn't give a toss about my ebay account but still........

I am still waiting for SJ step up and take charge of the admin.

I would hate to have to force her

With my parents discount around £800-£900. Private hire is coming in more expensive than that!

A misused ebay acct isn't a major problem; it's giving out my paypal acct I'd be wary of doing, wageslave as - I think - it = free money. ie like access to your bank account?

Not sure, as I'm not v technical and have never given anyone else access to my paypal account!

But I'd be wary of you doing that - even to me or sjay.

    It just seems wrong.

Does that make me very mean and untrustworthy?

    Dunno, maybe just very mse?

And no, I don't have any better ideas...

    OK....

now, how many want a clear out?

...if we look around our homes to see what we have if we know roughly how many people want to do this then we know how much stuff we are looking for to find/ebay each.

BTW...any wonder people don't holiday in UK... between a few of us its much more reasonable though. :)
