Seems pretty conclusive to me, a slip from Brownies buddy, besides it is friendly on the campaign budget

I don't doubt the likelihood, but nothing's set in stone.... until it has been.0 -
I can't be doing with prevarication.
In the absence of any better idea than Carols tent (much as the kindness is appreciated) here is what we are going to do....
We will use my ebay and paypal account. Someone (other than me) will take charge of putting the stuff up for sale and emailing everyone.
Who will take charge of seeing to the admin side?
LIR? Carol? SJay?
Don't look at me. I can't even work out an avatar never mind upload pics to ebay.
I want pledges for decent stuff.
Ladies to your cupboards please........
I think we need about 500 quid
I could do the admin if no-one else can - the problem is lack of time - I have a stack of stuff (totally unsorted) I've been meaning to list for ages, but haven't found the time to list. But if no-one else can, I can. I certainly know how to use ebay - we started off big about 5 years ago by buying a car off ebay (a pretty good buy, though we knackered it quickly). So we jumped in at the deep end! We now have a frighteningly high ebay um..transaction count or whatever it's called. (What is it called? - mind a blank, suddenly...) Bought far too much and sold quite a bit too.
Edit - just seen your post Sue - any chance of you getting a different caravan/spot in the same place as where you usually go?0 -
Yada yada.......
Who is taking charge of Sue's summer holiday fund?
SJay you have been suspiciously silent.
I would be totally comfortable with you in charge. In fact I would sleep at night knowing you had access to my current account.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -
I usually holiday at the same place my parents have a caravan so they can help with the children, unfortunately there is not the room in their van for all of us for more than a night (or two at a squeeze although we are usually ready to kill each other after that length of time :rotfl:) It has a swimming pool and a club house and a very handy cheap beach 2 miles down the road, so once we are there, it is a very cheap holiday. We generally don't go gallivanting around as youngest tends to try to climb out of the car (as we are moving) if we are going somewhere unfamiliar
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, it really is truly appreciated.
Are we missing the point here, could you use your parents caravan while they are not using? or is the problem help with the boys while you are on holiday.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Stevie, they go on holiday at the same time to help with the boys/keep me sane/provide the odd glass of wine.
Carolt - We have looked for the same site but no private hires left at a reasonable cost and through the site is very expensive even with my parents 25% discount as owners. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

wageslave, I don't know whether Sue would welcome this - maybe she would. But the idea of a random group of people who only know each other by a 'username' and are situated right across the British Isles, organising something on this scale sounds fraught to me and is beyond my scope, I'm afraid.
My suggestion sounds, to me anyway, the most logical way forward.0 -
speaking o these bloody pictures...I have the phne (it also refuses to text pictures...) I have a wire which attaches to my computer, I have a cd...cd doesn't really seem to do anything...I keep telling it to ''run install''cos that sounds good...but then...nothing
when wire is plugging in it doesn't recognise it, so I guess the cd is the missing link?0 -
oh, hangon....its playing music....I think I have the wrong cd in there....
edit: no was right cd, just has weird repetetive tune and won't save the ''stuff'' on t th computer. I think I should wait till off line?0 -
Sue, theres no need to look at something like rejoining a support group as admitting to failure- its not like you are signing yourself into a rehab centre (not saying rehab is a failure either but hope YSWIM)
Support groups are there to do exactly that - support all members. You wouldn't be joining in to 'take, take, take' or announce yourself as not coping or inferior- you will also be joining to help other members:
*those with younger children who might want advice on handling pre-schoolers or primary age kids- you've done that
*advice on re-starting their education, increasing their knowledge- you've done that
*support for those recently separated, considered leaving a bad r'ship- you've done that
I also notice at every opportuinity you refer to your background- what you once were- status, how you used to perceive yourself. Sorry if I'm out of order pointing that out but it comes across to me like a virtual mill stone around your neck
I know its not easy accepting that actually no-one else really gives a fcuk (in the way you think) about how life has turned out for you (as it does most of us :A).... you are your own harshest critic / judge, and its surely doing you no favours. No need to get that stick out at every opportunity
Again, sorry if comes across as harsh - my intentions are genuineWe cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

As bad as me.....I couldn't work out why my roast wasn't cooking a little while ago, started swearing at the blooming thing and then realised I had forgotten to switch the cooker on at the wall :rotfl:We made it!
