Thought it was time for an update.

    No snow here.

    Anyone anywhere else?

I'm currently running a lowish temperature, just at the wrong time, as I have stacks of marking hitting my inbox tomorrow (well, probably midnight tonight, but I won't be checking).

DD1 has the same bug but far worse than me, so I seem to spend all day running up and downstairs, fetching things like straws, juice, food she won't actually eat...

    How's everyone else?

Do some people have snow? How exciting!:j:j:j

I had a bug at the weekend.....I just have a bit of stomach ache now.

Hunt came past today and the old horses went flying round the field like a pair of nutters. tails flagging and showing they could keep up with the younguns....mkes me happy to see them charging about, but makes me worried in case they hurt theselves....horses are stupid like that.

I am updating my CV. I am seriously thinking of applying for a new job. It is a far higher salary ( about the same as I was earning 5 years ago with a previous employer) but probably not as secure a job.

DD and I have been doing Xmas decorations. She is not a happy bunny. We usually have a real tree but this year I bought an artificial one.

She is stomping around throwing me dirty looks and I am pretending to be oblivious.

OK, I admit it was a mistake but honestly it is not as if I have murdered Santa bliddy Claus.

I am not buying another tree.

Suppose I stomp a bit too? What about a sprig of tree.....or a real wreath or galand at least? And some mistletoe? Common...you know you want the tree-smell....

Hello. Thanks for asking. Sorry you are one or two degrees under. Always hated marking, but did it religiously. Kids don't look at it, of course, but parents slag-off any teacher who doesn't. Fact.

I'm a bit busy, but otherwise OK, and there is no snow, or even a hint of it yet, in sunny (who am I kidding?) Devon. Yesterday, we had three power outages thanks to electrical pole work in the village, but apart from messing the computer up, those don't bother us, as we are on oil and wood for heat and cooking, with bottled gas as back-up. Also, DW has so many candles going at this time of year the place is like a holy shrine.

DW says it is busy in her shop in Exeter, but then they are having a Sale and most of the stock is not the sort of thing one buys other people at Christmas, more the sort of thing one has to buy, or 'invest in' as she'd have it.....typical sales-person!

Tell her you're planning to re-use the tree every year as it's environmentally friendly.

I am sure that will 'go down' well.

The only environment she cares about is hers:cool:.

Can plastic trees really be environmentally friendly? I know they are meant to be but.....

we had to buy a new tree this year....we before this we've carted one in and out till its too bg then planted it....this year it was a fine size but it was in the paddock and the horse scratched her bottom in it and snapped it.
