Problem is that Gordy is still dithering over a date. He's started his campaign but hasn't stated the end point! Coward.

Good point tre but it would be nice to say that politics isn't "nice" enough to be in this thread ;)

Thought there are some good posts, i don't thing there is anything people would miss if the thread fell off but equally i don't see what will be gained by creating another thread to do the same as this one unless size matters.

I'm with sss on this one. If there was anything in here that we wanted to refer to and search for, we just need to plant an implausible phrase in it. If I ever want to find my favourite thread, I type "eat dopester's dog" into the search box. Now I can still do that and this thread will pop up too.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

A great thread indeed, viva. I wonder what dopester thought of it. :)

I thought dopester was very generous in letting us have a good chuckle at his (or rather his dog's) expense. Sign of a valued forum member. I also hope he's reassured by knowing that a) none of us know where he lives and b) quite a few of us are vegetarians.

Well I've crashed down rather spectacularly after running on adrenaline for the last week and a bit...I even snapped at the children which I never do (not good for therapy reasons to snap, it confuses and unsettles youngest).
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I hope you feel brighter this morning Sue.

Implausible phrase? midget giraffe...will that do?

The easier thing would be to put a link to this thread (and consequetive nice threads) in the first post each time Carolt starts it. Thats what we do in health and beauty. Now if I need to find out what I was wearing 2 months and 6 days ago or when I last finished/bought a bottle of shampoo I just need to find the first post in the current thread.

Consultant yesterday was a waste of my time and theirs. DH took the time off, and my amazing GP had written with a brief outline of the impossibility that is my body and the consultant just didn't seem to get it, obsessed with norms and averages (if some of my things go back to average I will probably cark it, and I'm not prepared to go half way there to prove this to them).

Then there was a fairly upsetting incident, which I'm going to choose not to dwell on till I can laugh truly and not with rue, but they drew some very wrong assumptions about my personal life and if they waste time and resources doing that a lot its no wonder our social srrvices are swamped.

True story: When my eldest was unwell with very severe movement problems for which a physical cause could not be found, they began looking at psychsomatic. One of the theories they were actively considering was that I was sexually abusing her and that the physical symptoms were her way of expressing a reaction.

It might have been very helpful to all concerned if they'd been up-front & come out with this idea as soon as they had it. I'm not saying it was daft, because such things happen, even when the abuser is, as I was, a person responsible for kids in a professional role. As it was, everyone suffered until, after several months, our physiotherapist found the real cause, a displaced hip joint that jumped in and out and therefore missed at the scans.

Sue, I too hope you're picking-up this morning. Snapping might not be good for youngest, but he still has to learn to live in the very imperfect real world, and may not a certain amount of reality help his adjustment?
