Hallo all, thinking of starting a new 'Nice People' thread as per suggestion a few pages back.
Will anyone mind? The downside is it may make it harder to find the old thread, as it won't always be on page 1. The upside is it may make it harder to find the old thread, with any potentially embrrassing/overly racy late night posts.
Opinions please!0 -
Either is good for me.
Anyone else feel this board is currently over-run by political hacks spouting the party line - it is bad enough not being able to switch on the news or open a paper without being electioneered at but on here as well - that is just too much.
Any politician who promised to go away until the start of the 3 week campaign would get my vote at the moment.I think....0 -

Problem is that Gordy is still dithering over a date. He's started his campaign but hasn't stated the end point! Coward.0 -

I've had a quick look back but can't see exactly where or what a proposed new thread was about.
Can you summarise the reasons please?0 -
Aaaagh - even on here...btw I agree with what you said re assertiveness cf bullying. I can see that in a time of national emergency those making decisions might have to put the usual niceties of courtesy aside but otherwise there is no reason not to be polite. My favorite business saying - there are no bad soldiers, only bad generals.Problem is that Gordy is still dithering over a date. He's started his campaign but hasn't stated the end point! Think there was a suggestion that the techies/ mse managers ask that long threads are started after 'x' amount of posts, so as to not slow down the servers I believe. I don't think this thread has been specifically asked though (yet)We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

Why not..but you will have to write a new intro...the original was funny...nice people to talk nicely about.......
I am sure we will all find it...someone could bump it up each time it goes to 2nd page and then this one will fade away.0 -

I don't suppose it really matters either way. I'm glad they allow us a thread that's purely for self-indulgence.0 -

Is it just because of the size of this thread ca?
I see this thread as a chat, banter, general off topic type of thread that can ramble along in any "nice" direction.
Thought there are some good posts, i don't thing there is anything people would miss if the thread fell off but equally i don't see what will be gained by creating another thread to do the same as this one unless size matters.
If they did both run concurrent either could or would go in different paths but really both would be filling the same gap.
