    Nighty night
  • Just wanted to wish you luck.
Northern rock refused to let us sell a property that at the time would have had £10k negative equity, they ended up repo it and eventual shortfall of around £130k.. they were the only creditor who I laughed at during my BR. naughty me.

So, I made THE phone call.......

Got through to Doxford, spoke to a nice man who admitted he didn't really know why they were blocking the sale of the house  so he put me through to his manager, who also was very nice, explained she wasn't really sure what was going on, or the process I was going through and the department I needed was closed  Then she asked about a best price certficate-my estate agent has provided one but apparently its not signed by someone with the right qualifications and she said this was all that was holding the sale up????!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, i explained the situation and what I had been told just YESTERDAY and told her I basically didnt give two hoots of they wanted to repossess it anymore-but they would not be getting a nice big chunk of cash if they did and I offered to go up there myself with the keys and said I was fully prepared to name, shame and publicly out them :o

Anyway, she was very nice, agreed with me completely and said she was taking ownership of my case until Monday when she would speak to the manager of the relevant team to get this resolved. They are APPARENTLY going to call me, a relief after I forked out £20 quid in top ups yesterday and today I had to use my mother in laws phone! Fingers crossed....I will keep you posted....

hey Kerry frustrating day by the sounds of it, at least the woman you spoke to is 'taking ownership' of it, which will (hopefully) help. i really hope you get somewhere on Monday - keep us posted x

Thanks for updating us Kerry. It looks more hopeful than it did. You really don't need this and I do hope that it goes the way you need it to be. I'm just pleased they are treating you with respect. Stay strong x
  • Hi Kerry

Thanks for the update & keep pushing them Hun...thats all you can do.

Ultimately you are actually helping them resolve the house situation so they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they block the sale....unless of course they know something about the housing market that we don`t...LOL on their past perforformance I doubt it.

BTW...keep a note of names & make sure that they have documented your conversations on their `systems`.

You sound better than yesterday...don`t worry over weekend you can`t do anything until Monday anyway.

Northern Rock have now REFUSED to allow the sale to proceed, REFUSED to commence Repossession proceedings and are REFUSING to tell me what I can do to get them to co operate. I have spent 2 hours in the manchester branch today, I have spoken to Doxford department-nothing!!!!

I want to publicise how I am being treated, how the tax payer will now not only have to cough up for my mistakes, but that NR are doubling the cost to the tax payer. I feel bad enough having gone BR without this.

All help, advice and knowledge appreciated.

I want to name and shame Northern Rock
