Also praying car dont go wrong but think we need to build up small contigency fund in savings as car always goes wrong.think it would avoid us getting into more debts.

I think this is a very good idea, I save £100 every month to cover servicing, MOT, insurance, parts and breakdowns. In an emergency I could also then spread the insurance over a year to free some of this up for the unexpected. Last year we had a big bit go wrong on one car that cost us £800, if I didn't have the money saved it would have been a real nightmare. I hate cars .

To those who are struggling at least you are not burying your head in the sand and you will get there with the help of everyone on MSE even if it is one small step at at time :A

Payment of £203.87 to Egg today which takes the balance under £10k:j this is one of the two cards that I want to pay off when I get paid at the end of April so all reductions in the total are a big help the other one is Mint and I am PADding £10 a day to that one I will update my sig on that one when I get the statement or else I will get confused  if I try and do it every day. Right off to update sig with the Egg payment.

Have a good day everyone and be nice to yourselves you are doing a great job :A

  • Hi all,

Its my bday today and have received about £150 from friends and family. Going to talk to hubby but as we don't need anything I might use that to pay my virgin credit card its close to the F & F settlement they sent me a few months ago so might try that again.

Have a good day all and keep up the good work!!!

We ust had a disaster with our car. CAmbelt nearly snapped (if it had it would have been new car time). As it is it was £550 of repairs. Luckily that was exactly DH's extra gigging income this month, although I had been looking forward to paying off a big chunk from our cards. Sigh.

And we've got MOT next month adn DH thinks we'll need brakes doing. Gah.
