    Hi all,

Hope everyone had a good xmas and happy new year.

Please add me for this challenge for £10K. I didn't manage to stay on top of things last year but made a new years resolution to stop faffing on facebook and be on here more (that and I've had yet another lightbulb moment)!!!! Please give me a kick up the bum if I start faffing!!

I dread to think what my current debts are as last year I didnt have a job for 3 months so used savings then went self employed and didn't earn much but also have a small tax bill to sort out in April - joy oh joy.

Ebay is my best friend at the mo and have been selling my dad's model car collection and he is giving me 20% of the profit so that will be a help. But on the down side we are off to the Isle of Man for the TT this year and it is going to cost us a fortune  not happy about the cost because it was up to my husband and our friends to book it and they are not following dfw way.

I've not yet totted up what we owe but I know it is alot without the mortgage. I want to clear my virgin card and our electric bill in the first 6 months so that is my first target to get to.

I've been temping for a local firm and they have offered me a contract but it means that I could earn less money so am looking for extra work.

I will try and update my signature as I've not been on here for ages but the flat is in a bit of a mess due to a problem with our windows but had B & Q vouchers for xmas so that has not cost us anything to get diy supplies.

Keep up the good work everyone and I can't wait to get paid next week to clear some debt!!!!!

Just paid a big lump of 'savings' off of our Tesco CC, £1228.63 to be exact! It was money we had that we were paying back our interest free loans with, then realised it'd be better put to use clearing a CC (insert smack on forehead smilie!!)

That's us now 11% of the way to our target :D Pity the next 89% isn't so easy to do! Still, BT done on the Virgin card (£60 in fees though ) and the Tesco card is nearly clear, though it does still charge interest. It's in DW's name and she can't really get another card to transfer it to, and hopefully it'll be clear at teh end of the month anyway.

Very true, We'd paid off perhaps £800 to 0% loans while still paying interest on the CC's. Expensive lesson.

    Hi,

I would like to be added to this challenge please :)
I have £13222 that I am aiming to pay off in around 15-16 months time and have estimated that I could pay off £9300 by xmas. As a challenge and to round it up to a nice figure I will aim to pay off 10k by xmas.

I have just paid £168.59 to barclaycard, I will change signature in a moment. I work as a bank healthcare assistant at a nearby hospital and I rang yesterday for some shifts and got 5 over the next two weekends, I only can work weekends at the moment. So by the end of that I should have enough to pay off the rest of the barclaycard debt and some of the virgin debt. Although two of the shifts are in the same day from 7am to 9.30pm (minus 2 hrs in breaks) I am prepared to do this to make a dent in the debt.
