When you manage to pay out a lot you just look and think 'how on earth did I manage THAT?', don't you? I still can't believe I've knocked off nearly a grand from my CC in three or so months given how little I currently earn. I guess it shows what you can do when you apply yourself...;)Please call me 'Pickle'

We've updated our Payment Plans we set up due to different circumstances. We're not facing bankruptcy anymore thankfully. The car we had on HP s being taken back soon as we were struggling to keep up with the payments, but they're going to completely wipe our outstanding debt with them.
It's not been an easy year for us with various things but we've coped somehow lol.
We saved the vouchers for (Sun £9.50 hol) so we're going on hol this year, we did the same last year as well.
Hoping to be debt free by Xmas 2010 or just after.Total Debt (£23,069.63) as of Aug 08

Hi all have waded my way through the mess that is our flat and have dug out my ebay box. I have loads of bits to add to it due to xmas and the lack of knowledge some family members have about what young adults want these days. lol. Well it is the thought that counts and if i can sell it and pay off some debt then thats good.
Also just been going though my debt diary for the last year which i lost interest in when i got made redundant but have just worked out what we now owe. Unfortunatley it has gone up since last year due to not working much but now back on track. Will update sig tomorrow when working out how to use turbo lister on ebay, and after recovering from the shock!!!
I have even looked into cashing in some gold following a thread on one of the other boards so hopefully that will help. Keep up the good work everyone.

Hi Mitch! I haven't read the threads on cashing-in gold so I'm sure you know much more about it than me, but I was given the impression from a newspaper article I read that their rates were very, very low, so check out whether or not pawning/selling privately might not get you a better rate before you make a decision as to what to do if you do decide to get rid of anything gold.
Best of luck! Please call me 'Pickle'

Hi, I sold some just before Christmas. I'd read on here about selling gold, but then saw a Good Morning program on it, where it said local jewellers normally are better. First I researched what a 'normal' price should be (I was lucky the GM article had upto date prices, then I put the jewellery on kitchen scales (split 9, 18 and 22 carat if you can), I worked out a reasonable minimum I was willing to accept.
Then I went to a small town with a few jewellers. I did have to haggle (I'm not used to it), but they wanted the gold and I wanted the money
The jewellers were used to people popping in, lots have signs saying they're buying gold, so it wasn't embarassing at all.
It was easier than posting it off, and you're less tempted to accept a lower figure as you can just walk away, rather than wondering if it will come back OK from one of the postal ones.
I combined it with a Christmas shopping trip, so it didn't waste time/money either if I didn't sell.
Hope you do well if you decide to sell.0
