No no honestly - you can't see it up close!!:rotfl: Thanks though everyone!
I've just joined a book challenge on here (Poddle is on I think too?) so have just totted up my books on my shelves - 182 in total, not including what I'd call reference books (language books, travel guides, poetry books etc) and of these I've only read 88  94 to go then!
Going to replace the 'add £1000 to savings' target in my sig with this, as I don't really think that's feasible with everything else that's going to be going on this year...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Yup, I'm the same as you Tete; just want to read more than I buy! Although the other day I was in the queue at WhSmith with some 'bargains' but I resisted temptation and returned them to their shelves. Well done me
I don't dare count them though! I think I'm going to try to read one non-fiction book for every 2 or 3 novels - looking at my bookshelves I should be incredibly knowledgeable about all sorts of things! But I'm really not. Yet.
I think it's a good challenge though, Tete! And it's v wise to postpone the £1000 savings for the mo, especially if you want to move out soon.LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

I have at least 400 unread books and at least 3000 read ones... I may have to sit this one out! Plus books are currently the one thing that is truely for relaxation and has no goals attached, even painting and sewing are working towards something, so I think I need to keep it as siply pleasureable. Good luck with yours though, whats first on the list?Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »I think in hindsight the colour is the colour of shop overallsI have a nice Liberty fabric for my dress. Morning,
Yes I'm happy to postpone the savings for now, I may even have to dip into them for a new car at some point this year, but I don't mind using them for things like that.
I know what you mean Poddle, I have all sorts of random non-fiction books that I dip in and out of, but I don't find them relaxing. First on the list for me Dinah is to finish the Dark Materials trilogy. so The Subtle Knife next. The I want to read something completely different so maybe a bit of chick-lit, not sure.
Liberty fabric was from ebay, it was £20 for about 3 metres, which is just way too much, I don't know what I was thinking! Going to be very careful when cutting out the pattern and save as much as possible maybe to go back on ebay. Did I tell you I went to that fabric shop in Hartlepool that they're always raving on about? Not impressed at all, it was all the same fabrics as they have in Boyes, the plain cottons etc, didn't look at prices because it was just me and the woman alone in this tiny shop and I felt awkward. Not much in the way of buttons etc, and no patterns. Very disappointingWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
