  • Well he had a cream scone this morning Wendz so he can't be that bad, although I think it set him back a bit!

It's always been OH's dream to go there and he's been looking at Queensland, I'd never thought of living there but always up for an adventure so more than hapy to go with him. But anxious at the thought of all the poisonous animals lurking about though! It'll be another couple of years, it's OH's job that will get us in, and mine if I take up pastry cheffing!, so he wants to build u a good portfolio before we apply.

Ah don't worry about the poisonous things. I have been there 4 times now and have only ever seen spiders in national parks -which is where they belong! You will have a great time over there

Tete the cottage is gorgeous - can see why you have fallen in love with it!! Understand completely what you mean about the cats though, i could never give up my baby (aka cat :rotfl:) for the sake of a house. The last flat we lived in was about my 5th choice because non of the others would let us have her in the house.
Luckily the house we are going to view on Wednesday, the company have no problem at all about her being there - it even has a catflap, i wonder how easy it is to train a 12 year old cat to use a catflap :)

    How exciting about Australia though!

I'd say your chances of that are slim-to-none! It's not just old dogs who are reluctant to learn new tricks!

Those were my thoughts when OH told me about the house - he was most excited about the catflap :rotfl:
I can tell you now i am not going for a house simply based on the fact it has a catflap, sometimes i do worry about OH! Although it would be fun to watch him trying to teach her :rotfl:

  • Well we went for a little reccy to the village where the house is on Saturday, curtains were all closed so looks like it's unoccupied and ready to move into. There were lots of cats wandering about, don't know whether that would have any bearing on the landlord though!! Also the lady next door seemed a bit of a cow - we had to drive right up close to the houses to get past the parked cars - there are no front gardens - and she was sitting in the window reading her paper and OH said she gave him a right dirty look, I was too busy looking at the cats in the street to notice!

We were going to look at sums (I think I've already said this, but just to reiterate :D) yesterday but didn't get chance due to OH's dodgy tum, but I've had a little look today, underestimating our wages a bit and overestimating bills, and I'd have £50 per week spending money if we split bills down the middle - which is fine but doesn't leave much scope for saving! I think OH will be ok with the idea of splitting things proportional to what we earn though and this will obviously relax things for me. We can go over them tomorrow night when I see him and then might think about going to view the house. Trying not to get too excited about it in case it's already gone or they won't have the cats.

Managed to fit my zip to my skirt last night, and it doesn't look as bad as I thought, so just the hem left which I'm going to do tonight. I've just been and bought some lining and notions for my next project so getting excited about that :)

Few things to do later though:

    - Make birthday card
    - Wrap presents
    - Tomorrow's packed lunch
    - Litter tray
    - Tidy zip
    - Hem skirt
    - Tidy all seams etc on skirt
    - Finish mood board
    - Washing
    - Tidy up
    - Package up RiSi book

    That will most certainly do!

That is good that it looks like a cat friendly street, hopefully the landlord will feel the same.

When we move again we are going to split the costs according to how much we earn...actually not sure why we don't now as I paid more when he earnt less lol. Might have a word ;)

So exciting Tete - can I have a peek at the cottage too?

  • I think it's probably fairer that way Wendz - if we don't I'll only end up running out of money at the end of the month so he'd be subsidising me if we went anywhere so it would be pointless.

Of course Lara, will send you a PM, sigh...

I think it's fair too and I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same even if I was the higher earner!

Exciting news about viewing the cottage (if not strictly a 'proper' visit!) and look forward to finding out how it goes! But as you say, if it's not the right one, there will be plenty of others and more time to save - Twirly Martin for looking on the bright side...? :money:

Ooooh, I love *love* LOVE the cottage! Go for it. Depressingly that's almost the price of the average room in London these days.
