Morning - having a bit of a money-hangover morning after my trip to London - I didn't keep my spending diary at all and have been peeping at my bank accounts through my fingers. I have £36.99 left in the CA until pay day Wednesday, so I'll put down £120 as my London spends - OH was a darling and treated me loads :) The OD has gone up by a fiverish, I got my Ciao money finally but then my interest came out straight away after, I've amended the sig to show the true amount now paid off.

There are a couple of things I need today and tomorrow which I may have to use the OD debit card for... I want to mosey up to Boots and see if they have any of the S&G sets left, if by some miracle they do I'll be treating myself to one of those but if not I may not need to use the OD at all. I'm taking Granny to the supermarket after work (she can't get out in the snow) and want to get some of the Christmas shopping in myself - don't want to wait til after payday as there mightn't be much left!

I'm not going to abandon my £100 Dooyoo 2009 challenge, even though it's tempting. I worked out if I do three reviews per day from yesterday to Thursday, that might just do it, but I only did one yesterday :o So aiming for four today and tomorrow whilst I'm at work and three the next two days. I've done a list of the things I want to write about though so that's half the battle!

    To do today:
    - 1 Dooyoo
    - 2 Dooyoo
    - 3 Dooyoo
    - 4 Dooyoo
    - Drop off Dad's letter
    - Post 2 parcels
    - Have a look for S&G in Boots
    - Have a look for coats in New Look - favour for OH
    - Take granny shopping
    - Finish last two tree hangers
    - Wrap presents
    - Try to work out Bingo Britain
    - Have a think about January budget

Think that's about it, I'm sure I'll add to it though. Been inspired by Dinah's list for over the hols so going to make one of my own, but it's going to be pleasurable things like things I want to make or bake or do - no Moneymaking allowed! :D

  • To do today:
    - [STRIKE]1 Dooyoo[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]2 Dooyoo[/STRIKE]
    - 3 Dooyoo - Hey I did do two, that's amazing for me!
    - 4 Dooyoo - Hey I did do two, that's amazing for me!
    - [STRIKE]Drop off Dad's letter[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Post 2 parcels[/STRIKE]

    - [STRIKE]Have a look for coats in New Look - favour for OH[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Take granny shopping[/STRIKE]
    - Finish last two tree hangers - One still to go!
    - Wrap presents - Only did the ones for friend I'm seeing today :o
    - Try to work out Bingo Britain
    - Have a think about January budget

Didn't do too badly then yesterday really. I'm pleased with the review count, tho still £17 off my target!

    Spends were terrible!
    £20 - Soap & Glory hat box
    £0.85 - flapjack thing
    £2.65 - jacket potato
    £63 - in Tesco:eek:

Tesco shopping was Christmas food, as well as stocking up on quite a bit of cat food and litter, some Bob Martin flea drops, cleaning stuff, Quality Street, wine, etc etc - I got quite a lot of expensive stuff for my money.

The Tesco shop came out of my overdraft though as I thought we didn't get paid til Wednesday but actually it went in today, so I'm going to pop to the bank at lunchtime to redress the balance straight away, I think I'll put enough in to take me under £500 too, til I work out my budgets for January.

    So to do today:
    - Money in bank
    - 1 Dooyoo
    - 2 Dooyoo
    - 3 Dooyoo
    - Tidy room
    - Change litter box
    - Have a look at Jan monies
    - Make a nice to do list for my time off :)

And that's all as I'm seeing OH tonight. Anything else can wait til tomorrow when I'M OFF WORK!! Yesss ... no scraping the car at 7.30!

  • Hi Tete,

I ordered 2 soap and glory hatboxes but won't get them until after Xmas. What are they like? I am dying to see mine!
    Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
    DFD:Nov 22/June 22
    Mortgage: €199,712
    MFD: March 2042/July 2034
  • I haven't actually been into mine yet, it's still in the boot - I had that much shopping to take in last night, and Christmas presents and things, and someone was parked in my space so I was down the street, I just couldn't be bothered to keep going back and forth in the snow! The box itself is nice though, I'll def be reusing it for storage as it's so pretty, and I think the S&G stickers will all come off. Ooh, can't wait to get into it when I get home!

Tete - what did you get up to in London?

  • Hey Lara! Not an awful lot really when I think about it - the first day we went to the half price theatre booth and got some £25 tickets for Billy Elliot, then went to Covent Garden for a look around, but it started blizzarding so we were stuck there for a bit. Ended up eating in McDonalds that night even though there were loads of nice looking restaurants and pubs near the theatre as we totally underestimated the travel time on the tube! Billy was fantastic though, I'd highly recommend it.

Then the Friday we had a wander through Hyde Park for the winter wonderland, were going to go skating til we found out the price - £13 each per hour!! A squirrell ran up our legs though so we were happy! Then we went to the Natural History Museum and had a look around the new sciencey bit and OH got all excited to see some new fangled laser smoke detectors, and we saw the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition - also highly recommended, on til April - made me want a posh camera! That evening we met up with a couple of my best friends who live down there and just ended up going to La Tasca for ease and then a few drinks somewhere near Oxford St. We cut our last day a bit short because we knew the snow was coming so just had a little wander down to the Eye area for a look at the Xmas market and as it was a nice day we did a bit of an ad hoc walking tour and went to see Buckingham Palace, the Mall, Trafalgar Square and Downing St - all stuff we've seen before but it was still exciting to us provincials! - then got some food and went home.

So, unfortunately didn't really have the chance to check out any of your markets or food suggestions :( Time seems to get away from you in London - I always underestimate how long it takes to get the tube anywhere, and when you have to go back and forth to the hotel with bags and things. Had a really fantastic time though, made us feel Christmassy :)
