    No, not at all

You did fine, more to the point you haven't done them any favours either

    Second that!

Perhaps if they call back you could mess with them a bit. Ask them to hang on while you dig out your file dealing with this matter, then hold the phone near the toilet as you flush it. :rotfl:
  • Hi, just received a parking ticket from
Excell, looked at the above posts. Paid for
ticket but was 45 mins late returning to car
at night! In an empty car park!
So there are no ways in which this could back
fire on me?! Just wanna check, thanks for any help

Technically you owe them the additional 45 mins parking fees.

To cover all bases I would consider offering them this 'in full and final settlement'.

Word it carefully, do not mention or imply that you were the driver of the vehicle.

Or you can ignore it, given that the amount they are asking for is wholly disporpotionate to the amount you legally owe them.

    Wrong, wrong, so wrong.

    Ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

its a FAKE ticket, ok technically you owe 45 mins, but its up to you, my advice would be to ignore , full stop, further letters you will recieve, from, a)excell,,,b)roxburghe (we have zero powers ) debt collectors,,c) the world famous (not) graham (i am a phoney solicitor) white,,all part of the same SCAM,,,only a PENALTY charge notice is legit issued by police/traffic warden/local councills,,you have a PARKING charge notice=not legal/unenforceable/ only can be issued by cowboys,=loo paper, there you go,, aint the job a good un.read stickies for further information and further reassurance

That's your opinion. My opinion is that there is an option to offer full and final settlement. Excel are particularly litigious.

I also gave the OP the option to ignore as well. Both options are perfectly valid.

Just because we disagree doesn't make me 'wrong'.

From what ive read there was a case involving a PPC that tried a very rarre court action against someone, although the PPC lot much more than it gained the defendant still had to pay some money as he/she had oerstayed /not paid for a pay car park and had made no attempt to pay what they owed inparking fees.

making areasonable offer to cvover the parking fees owed will fully negate this, plus you should keep a record of all corespondance as proof.
On top of all that once you have made the offer ( and probably had it refused) you can then tell them to stop sending you letters, otherwisse it will be harrasment ( from which you can make a claim against them and the car park owner)

    Parking Eye v Smith

If he'd have offered the fees in full and final settlement he'd have been ordered to pay nowt, instead of the £95 in the judgement.

Although Parking Eye were denied over £4000 of legal costs.

Admittedly cases like this are extremely rare indeed.

If it was me i would make an offer of payment of the original parking fee, and not the over inflated penalty they are tyring to charge.
after all a payable service was used ( car parking) and the costs for that are outstanding.
