Weeeeeeeell, I didn't make a mistake, but I have replied & apologized.
Mind you, given this thread has had over 11000 views, I can't be on my own surely?
I'm never over greedy, usually just buying one if I see an offer, but you have to be opportunistic sometimes don't you? Maybe Richard Branson would agree.i didnt get one
There's time yet.
Oh, & yes, I'm not going to give out full details of my son, his name & when he will be travelling etc. I too find that somewhat worrying.0 -
I got that e-mail too.0
-
I have had the e-mail querying my transactions too.
I have just replied with order numbers.
I am very annoyed with the attitude that customers should in some way 'be fair ' to Virgin or any other companies that put offers on to any Cashback sites, without thinking through the consequences.
If Virgin and Quidco are daft enough to promote this type of offer without ensuring there is a minimum purchase then they are at fault.
What does Martin say about being adversarial to these types of institutions?.....0 -

You do have a point.
I was only taking advantage of an offer they were promoting.
I've paid for the ticket as required..surely it doesn't matter if I use it or not?
If I buy bubble bath from Marks and Spencer, surely the cashback isn't dependent on whether I actually take a bath with it or decide it was surplus to requirements and throw it away.0 -
it will be interesting to see how this plays out... as they are blocking any payments due (not just relating to train tickets) until this issue is sorted...so it could be anyone due for payments end of Nov wont be getting them

You seem to be mistaking a purchase with a bonus ..
You can do whatever you want with the tickets you have purchased.
Just don't expect a company offering a bonus to have to DO anything in relation to a gift they offered you ,even through a third party.
I take it everyone has received the item they purchased from Virgin.
I hope Virgin does pay out ..And I think as gesture of goodwill it probably will ....Unless some numpty has booked a whole train full of tickets.
I posted so early on because I think people mistake Quidco for something else ..it is very rarely a glitch ...it is a marketing strategy ...If it is wrong it will get pulled ,and there is not really any comeback ..
I focus on the GIOL forum and get my Quidco from Bookies and Casino's ( an area well worth looking at ) ...Gambling establishments can be extremely fickle and maybe that's shaped my opinion .....Not really up for a fight over this one ...But I felt you deserved to know why I stuck my oar into your thread so early on

Im trying hard not to say I told you so but.....Replies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
You seem to be mistaking a purchase with a bonus ..
I think maybe you are mistaking my post.
I'm fully aware that it is bonus, some you win some you lose. It was worth a shot. If they pay out, fantastic, & I'm sure I would have kicked myself for not striking whilst the iron was hot if I had not given it a go.
If they don't, it was something I was fully aware of and half expected. I gambled, if you like, less than a price of a lottery ticket, & if it is refused, so be it. I've had cashback refused before, and not once have I ever queried it, I just accept it and move on.
My point was, I'm suddenly being made to feel like a criminal for availing myself of an offer which gave cashback for no minimum spend. Even Quidco themselves encouraged you to make more than one purchase, highlighting cashback was available per basket, so to use a separate booking for each ticket. I complied fully with the terms and conditions of the offer.
I have come on here and owned up if you like, I haven't seen many others do so, but I suspect with 11500 views, it wasn't just me.
I don't think my activity was particularly greedy or outrageous, yet I am the customer who is suddenly 'being investigated', as if I was in the wrong.
Their offer was at fault and I haven't done anything wrong. They should simply refuse the cashback if they don't want to honour their original offer rather than make out it is suddenly the customers fault.
Hmmm..I wonder if those who availed themselves of the Hoover free flights all those years ago needed to be investigated too?0 -
Yes - this reminds me of the Hoover Offer as well.
I think Virgin should be more worried about those highly paid marketing people that came up with this bright idea.0
