Well was the money taken in line with their terms & conditions that you agreed to?
If not, you could try your bank. If that fails take Travelodge to court.
Thanks for the advice but...........
'Would any company state that they will take 2 payments for 1 booking and then refuse to refund the overpayment in their terms and conditions'.
That's basically what has happend here, and of course, If it did say that then I would not have agreed to it.
Then the Halifax Bank ('what a laugh' to busy doing their own swindling, they are.) well they won't accept any blame for allowing 2 payments to the same company taken within minutes of each other, an obvious mistake or even fraud. They say sort it with Travelodge.0 -
3rd time lucky. You got two posts of this, maybe 3rd time you might get your money back0

Beware....if Travelodge take extra payments, they refuse to refund. This has happend to me. They have taken 2 payments from my bank account, I have emailed them the proof that they have only booked the 1 room requested, and they have only sent out 1 Vat invoice for 1 room ( the 'mytravelodge' page clearly shows 1 room booked and invoiced ). They refuse to refund the extra payment, insisting that I have agreed to the terms and conditions.!!!!!!!....But would I agree to being overcharged, actually I have been charged twice.????????????
I have not been able to get MY money back and in my opinion the customer management team have NOT treated me fair. They are forgetting that if customers refuse to book again then it's their job that may be at risk in the end....
I feel swindled....Maybe this is their way of surviving the recession and the money could be more important to them than me. Does anyone know if they are in financial difficulties, they seem intent on keeping my money !!!!.
Is their some organisation that I could make a formal complaint to.????
Tell you something - I'm thinking of making a "formal complaint" to the MSE mods about your bloody spamming.
Give it a rest, will you?0 -
I have also contacted them on numerous occasions. They reply that I have accepted terms and conditions. 'I want them to show me exactly where in their terms and conditions it says that I should accept that they steal my cash?????. It's so frustrating that the customer service staff seem to not want to accept the reality of 1 booking ,1 payment.
If you expressed it in such terms, expect to get nowhere.
Take a deep breath, it's understandably frustrating, but expressing yourself in angry terms won't help us understand your problem, or
Did you get two emails confirming your order? If you'd booked two rooms, then I think they would have taken the amount for both rooms in one go. Am I correct in understanding that they took one amount in two transactions?
I think what may have happened was that a button was pressed twice, or pressed the back button on your browser causing the booking to be done twice.
I think you need to put your complaint in a letter, make it as clear and calm as possible and adress to the chief executive. I think you have exhausted the helpline route.0 -

That's pretty much what I said in post #2, but the OP appears to have overlooked/ignored it.
I also think, and I hope s/he doesn't take this the wrong way, that if s/he writes letters in the same manner as forum posts (I mean some people just drop spelling and grammar for forums and emails, but can still do it if they put their minds to it) that s/he should ask someone with good English to proof read the letter.
There's no shame in doing that, if a letter is important I always get my wife or father to check it over and give me advice.
If a letter is written informally, with bad punctuation and spelling, then it is less likely to get taken seriously.0 -
Looked on the website
The names of the top bods are here;
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/executive_team/
The address of head office is:
Travelodge Hotels Ltd., Sleepy Hollow, Aylesbury Road, Thame, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, OX9 3AT0 -
I just can't believe that most think Travel Lodge is 'great'.
It's incredibly average.
Maybe many are just easily pleased or not used to anything nicer.0
