Who can I report Travelodge to, are they in trouble ?

Options
Beware....if Travelodge take extra payments, they refuse to refund. This has happend to me. They have taken 2 payments from my bank account, I have emailed them the proof that they have only booked the 1 room requested, and they have only sent out 1 Vat invoice for 1 room ( the 'mytravelodge' page clearly shows 1 room booked and invoiced ). They refuse to refund the extra payment, insisting that I have agreed to the terms and conditions.!!!!!!!....But would I agree to being overcharged, actually I have been charged twice.????????????
I have not been able to get MY money back and in my opinion the customer management team have NOT treated me fair. They are forgetting that if customers refuse to book again then it's their job that may be at risk in the end....
I feel swindled....Maybe this is their way of surviving the recession and the money could be more important to them than me. Does anyone know if they are in financial difficulties, they seem intent on keeping my money !!!!.
Is their some organisation that I could make a formal complaint to.????

    The police? For theft.

But you might like to think about writing to them with your complaint so that you have their refusal to refund in writing first.

Have you contacted the supplier of how you paid eg, bank, credit card holder, def ring and put it in writing.

I've had good and bad experiences with the travelodges, the one in Exeter is fab, whereas the one at Bridgwater is in need of a refit......
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • I have a similar scenario... made 3 bookings with travelodge, one was cancelled re MJ concert and the other 2 because of family circumstances - 2 were booked on the internet and 1 on the phone - they have refunded the internet ones but NOT the phone booking. I have contacted them many times about this even emailing them screenshots of my bank account - they insist I have received full payment and now when I go into my Travelodge it shows NOTHING! No cancellations..no bookings..nothing! Luckily for me I took a print out of the info before they deleted everything - I cannot find an actual address to complain to - does anyone know an address I can send my complaint to??
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

You do know that in advance though, so you make a choice about booking there and not getting breakfast or going elsewhere.

Or you pay extra and book your breakfast at the same time as you book your room

Well was the money taken in line with their terms & conditions that you agreed to?

If not, you could try your bank. If that fails take Travelodge to court.

  • I have considered the police, but would they be bothered over £29 overcharge.??
I have emailed them (travelodge) and sent evidence (copy of my travelodge page) of the fact that there is only one booking, but they say I have double booked. payment has been taken twice from halifax bank who say that I have to sort it out with travelodge.

That's what I did and we had some lovely breakfasts in Stratford this week :j:j:j

With all you can eat though, I'm feeling very 'stuffed into my jeans' now :D

I have also contacted them on numerous occasions. They reply that I have accepted terms and conditions. 'I want them to show me exactly where in their terms and conditions it says that I should accept that they steal my cash?????. It's so frustrating that the customer service staff seem to not want to accept the reality of 1 booking ,1 payment.
