:j:j:j I've found what could be my dream home :j:j:j
It is being marketed at a little above my budget but hopefully we can negotiate. It is old, so I'm also a bit concerned about the surveyors report, although the house looks as if it is in great condition.
Keep your fingers crossed for me please :AMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Racy Red, fingers are crossed. Also if you know its an old house and will have problems you can budget for it. The house i am buying isnt very old but I knew certain things would come up, its only the unexpected things that catch you out.
It will be ok,0 -

Hello,
New FTB here and hope you don't mind me joining in for a bit of support?
We had our offer accepted on our very first house last week and very excited :j:j:j However being totally new to this i'm keen for a bit of support along the way and have already found this thread useful....thank you :T
We're popping to estate agents (for buyer) this morning to drop off some paper work so going to get an update on the vendors status - they were in negotiations last week on property they liked which we beleive (or was hinted) had no chain so could be a straight forward (if that is possible) process. Fingers crossed.

Quick question, the Rightmove maps have changed recently, I used to use them in satellite mode and it would tell you the direction you were facing, so it was easy to see the orientation of a house, it doesn't anymore so can anyone recommend a map site that does show orientation. I'm a bit obsessed about wanting evening sun in the back garden of the next house as thats always been a bugbear for me0

Fingers crossed, the maps on all websites (that i know of) are north up, therefore you can work out what aspect your house will have,0

Oh no, the owners of the house I wanted to buy are sticking it out for a price which is a bit unrealistic in the current market for the area it is in. I'd already offered a premium but they are still not happy.
Fortunately there is another on the market very nearby on which the asking price is one hell of a lot less and it looks almost as good. I'm off for a look at it.My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

We've found a house we like, after speaking with my mortgage adviser he has me a little worried by saying the estate agents are the worst company he's had to deal with and to be careful for any underhand deals.
Still, they are selling the house we have liked the most so far so we are just going to have to be sensible. Just got a copy of the HIP to have a look at tonight and hopefully will get a second look at the place as well.
FTB here, a scary time but hopefully an exciting one too. Just had a second viewing confirmed for Wednesday evening with the owners.0 -
Congratulations purpletopaz, hope you enjoy moving day!
We're still waiting for the mortgage offer to be confirmed as my employers have taken AGES to get round to completing their paperwork. I was assured it was being taken care of at the end of last week but I haven't been in a position to chase up the mortgage company today. That's what I'm doing first thing tomorrow to get an idea of what's going on. Can't stand this wait!0 -
Ahhh just had the results of the damp report and electrical report, neither are very good, looking at 4k between them, and i know the sellers won't want to reduce price, ahhhh
suddenly feeling very wobbly about everything, guess thats all part of the course for a single FTB......................0
