I think eBay are OK, yes the fees have gone up but it is better than trading the items in or part exchange.

I recently took all my old camera equipment to Jessops as I want a new camera. They offered my £550 trade in against the new camera for the 7 items. I have just sold them all on eBay and after paying all the listing/FVF fess and Paypal fees I have still cleared £2000, so I am a very happy bunny as this means my new camera is only going to cost me £300.

i want to sell my nikon d40 , and was thinking about ebay , is it safe to do so, did you just send recorded delivery?

Hi, my D100 and D200 were both sent DHL bought through p4d.co.uk with additional insurance. I found eBay very good and just researched to see what they had been going for and put them on as BIN with best offer option.

I've just been to fill up my car with fuel for the first time in ages, and i can't believe how much i was charged! It was robbery! I even had to fill it myself.
Who can i blame for not telling me about this....
Are there any good alternatives to fuel?

    Get the idea here?

Who said anything about blaming someone? Obviously the oversight on checking the fees charged, is my fault.

My OP is just about my surprise in the large fee increases on ebay that have occured in the last year or so. For me personally, large enough to look elsewhere in future to sell stuff, rather than automatically think "I'll stick them on ebay" as I have been doing for the last 7 or so years.
  • I think that eBay should increase the threshold for free listings to £5 on items where they have now imposed compulsary 'Free Postage'

This would appear to be fair to both sellers of cheaper items and to eBay themselves!

it would be fairer if the final value fee was reduced on all "free" P&P items, rather than just the few selected categories where it is temporarily offered.

As above, when there is no charge for listing, the site just gets bogged down with too many overpriced, under-desired items, which reduces buyer activity, and supresses prices.

i agree with this i will continue to use ebay to sell clothes, shoes etc but items with enforced free p&P just aren't worth the risk or you could end up paying to get rid i'll take them to car boot 20p 4 them is better than 15p and possibly not selling.
