    Hi everybody,

Welcome back Halight, you were missed....glad to hear that you are ok and that the girls are doing well.

Hugs to everyone who is not well or who needs one for any reason.

Went shopping this morning for shoes and bra for wedding next week, ended up buying boots as well, dragged poor OH round the shops for hours, spent a lot of money...then went to DD4 for dinner....she seems to feed us at least one meal a week since she moved out, which is great as she is a good cook.

Weather here is most unpleasant....and we are not having the floods which have devastated most of the south-west.

Another early morning to-morrow as OH has to go to Warfarin clinic and then we have to go to a funeral...someone I've known all my life, to whom I used to sneak to for bread and jam after my breakfast when I was a small child...my mother was mortified when she found out about it....reminds me that sixty years ago it was safe for a small child to wander around a village, no cars around....just feel sad tonight.

Went to the CS yesterday afternoon and got 'We'll Eat Again' for 60p and a paperback for ds's stocking. I asked my mum yesterday how old we were when she stopped doing a stocking. She wasn't sure. Thought about 18-19. Already have a few things for dd. so might start and reduce and also make it everyday stuff.

    Evening all

Just wanted to say a quick Thank You for the comments and well-wishes today. Having read the bumf that came with the summons it said DS2/We can ask that a statement not be used in evidence so I done a letter to the PPS and Clerk of youth court as intructed putting forward the grounds on which we wanted her statement removed from evidence. Reasons work - she works with DS2's twin brother and they do not have an amicable relationship, she clearly knew the other party and therefore would be bias, that although she stated she had a clear and uninterupted view of the fight she gave a description that was nothing like DS2 and that she failed to mention key facts re the other lad ie that he was intoxicated and acting aggressively and that he knocked himself out when he fell and hit his head.

So now its just a waiting game!

I feel better having done something constructive and i am quite famous with family and friends for my ability to 'do a letter'! and when DS2 read it tonight he smiled and said 'you are so smart Mum' and I felt ridiculously pleased to have impressed a 17 year old grunter :rotfl:

    Fingers crossed !!

  • Evening Chums ,just got back from dropping off DGD.We had a lovely evening she chose Nando's to eat, and it was not cheap ,but suprisingly tasty. But as it was cheap Tuesday at the Odeon and I only had to buy one ticket for the cinema as I have a cinema exhibitors ticket the movie only cost £4.50 so its swings and roundabouts really. We saw '2012' which was pure American escapism, and total tosh, but thoughly enjoyable just the same.Lots of special effects which we both enjoyed.
My lovely DGS is working at Pinewood studios tomorrow and Thursday as a production runner, and my DD is worrying herself silly as he wants to drive there. He has sat-nav in his car so I can't see the problem, but she is such a worrier at times.Well I'm off to the Land of Nod now, so I hope everyone has a peaceful night
    take care all,God Bless

    Hi All :hello:

Haven't posted for a week or more - life has taken over and we finally moved house last Friday :j (a week after originally thought/planned!) so this evening is the first time that the computer has been re-connected... Haven't had a chance to catch up with everybody's news, so hugs to all who need/want one :grouphug:, and congrats to all who are celebrating good news. :T

OS has been a bit hit and miss, but we did manage a DIY moving job (120 miles from our "great" capital to the back of beyond - official moving company quotes were just short of £3k , but even buying boxes and hiring vans and paying for the diesel, I think we will have come in at between £500-600 ;) - we underestimated how long it would take us, so ended up hiring the "big" van for an extra day, and then had to hire a transit on moving day itself - we still had way too much stuff left to fit into the car - oops!! :rotfl:) but I think this counts as MSE - we must have saved 80% of moving costs!!

Tonight's dinner was leftovers from Sunday's roast dinner - veggies popped into a frittata (which we served up with salad and cold meats), and it fed Mr P and I, plus my Mum & Dad (who now live next door...!!:p). Plus, yesterday, while we were in London returning the "emergency transit van", Mum & Dad used up leftover cauliflower/broccoli from Sunday with some cheese sauce and some sausages from the freezer. Oh yes, we are now definitely getting back into the "cook once, eat all week..." mentality - fab!! ;)

Hope everyone has had a good day. I will try and post more regularly now as I get to grips with unpacking boxes, getting the house in order and getting back to "normal"...:p
