I'm sure I posted this morning, it was probably so boring it deleted itself.
Still very busy at work, still short staffed, oh well at least it's a job.
    Have a good evening everyone.

Well, meeting could have been better. We (the LSAs on casual hours contracts) are in the process of being 'regraded'. My prediction was that the meeting would either be about cutting hours or cutting pay. As they are advertising for new members of staff again it looks like it will be both.

I just sat down with the paper and calculated the % cut. It's about 46.5 % cut. I'd say that's significant, wouldn't you? We are of course invited to apply for the full time place/s that are being advertised, or the admin posts (lower rate) that are also being advertised soon. We will miss my ££, but not depending on it to put food on the table, as some might be.

DH was told this morning that he wouldn't get his 10% uplift for the first three months he's been working away from home. Ts & Cs are still under discussion there.

At least one person is happy. That's my ds, as he's getting HM pizza for tea. The way to a (little) man's heart and all that! I'm not desperately keen on pizza so called in at the corner shop (Aldi !!!) on the way home and got a pack of mushrooms and a pack of Black forest ham. Shall have 'bacon' egg and mushrooms and the other half on Thursday when I'm on my own.

I don't feel terribly motivated to do anything right now.

editing....just remembered something. It says at the top of the document about the 'regrading' CONFIDENTIAL. How many people did I just tell?

    Hi folks

Halight lovely to see you posting again - we missed you!

Sorry to hear about your job Purpleivy.

Busy day at work today so glad to be home.

Just got to tell you my news - I AM KNITTING A SCARF!!!! I have never owned a pair of knitting needles in my life and certainly never made anything but a retired work colleague came into work wearing a lovely scarf and I was admiring it and she said it is very easy to make. When I explained about my knitting inexperience she told me that she can make one in an hour and it was an ideal starter - so I went after work to the wool shop nearby and the lovely people in there even showed me how to cast it on and helped with the first couple of rows and I have been doing it since! It is a bobbly type wool and knits up really quickly and now is about 2 feet long already (been doing it about 2 hours now) [STRIKE]If[/STRIKE] When I finish it I will try to post a picture.

I signed up for knitting lessons whilst I was there which will start in January. They are also running crochet classes too (hmmmmmm - tempted with this too!)

The less good news today is that I got my date for my (gynae) operation - 21st December! Now I have been told that I will def be on High Dependancy Unit and will be in a couple of days at least so I am cutting it fine for Christmas! Luckily DD1 had already asked if she could cook the dinner at her house this year so that works out well.

So I will have to be organised well before now - luckily I have bought and wrapped most of my gifts - not many left to sort. I have even delivered some!!! So I don't have to worry about getting them to family quite far away!:D

Right need to get back to my knitting (goodness I sound like a proper OSer now! lol!)

    Have a good evening all

  • Hello everyone :hello:

Hope things get better soon Molly.
Hope things work out on the job front Ivy.
    Welcome back Halight.
No skinny dipping in DGS's pool please Aussie _pale_.
Have fun in Prague Celyn. OH has been and has been promising to take me for years.
Well done on the knitting Nic. :T I only started knitting recently and I love it, but I'm very slow. I would LOVE to go to a crochet class.

Got into the office today and got all the things done on my agenda. Tommorrow I can concentrate on the VAT. Took ready cooked baked potatoes and bean salad for mine and OH's lunch which were very good. I gave the girls HM dips and crudites for their lunch along with HM yoghurt, HM jelly and HM muffins for their lunch and the little tikes have forgotten to bring all that tupperware home. I've just made their lunch for tommorrow which is my version of the Dairylea lunchable thingys (ie squares of ham, squares of cheese, crackers and chutney. Spoiled rotten they are.

Spag Bol for tea tonight which I had to stretch as OH has invited his employee home for tea. Have also made chilli for tommorrow night and added one of my own dried chillis which has turned it from mild to explosive. The girls have a friend for tea tommorrow and there's no way they'll eat it so it will be oven fish and chips for them. ;)

Bought a DVD yesterday for OH so we may be truly decadent tonight and go to bed early to watch it. :D

    Bye for now.

    Haribo x

    Evening all.

Knitting. Not something I do. My mum had tried and tried to get me to learn but it just doesn't float my boat. After my gran and my mum there will be no one left in the family that can knit. I find that quite sad but TBH knitting and sewing is NOT one of my strong points :o I am crafty in other ways just not that. I once tried to stich on my brownie badges and ended up sewing the sleeve to the skirt part of the dress :o

Indulged myself and sat and read a book this afternoon whilst DD slept. Kids chuffing pasta as I "speak" and will need a hot bath to wash all the grub off LOL!!!
Managed to get some cleaning done this morning so just 2 bedrooms and the bathroom to do tomorrow :D

It is blowing a gale out there now. Am really glad H is in the car tonight, I'd be worried sick about him cycling on his bicycle in this weather.

Have a nice evening, stay warm and inside from the sounds of it.

I'm exhausted again and don't know why cos I slept well last night

Not much to report. Work was good, went food shopping in Mr T, got a few reduced bargains and used a £2.50 money off voucher (Farm Foods one).

I'm going to have nachos with salsa and sour cream for tea, and then crash out on sofa.

    Have a good night

    Hi Guys,
Thankyou for hugs and good wishes.
I really wish I could crochet a hat with a bright flower on it - I saw Liz Smith make one recently during her holiday programme - she is an amzing woman. Anyway I loved her hat and reckon one would suit me and more importantly brighten up my look!!!

Well my day was a bit of a write off as I had to retire to bed with one of my funny turns. I feel better now though and dinner has been done and DS2 presents wrapped for tomorrow as he will be 16. The washing needs sorting but i cant bend down at the moment so that will have to wait until I am less wobbly or someone volunteers to do it.

I have just watched the film Run Fatboy Run - I love it and my kids were roaring with laughter. It reminded me as I first watched it when I was flying to Tokyo. I loved Tokyo Snoozer so im sure your daughter will have a fab time as its a city for youngsters - i felt positively old.

Hope everyone has a restful evening,
    Love Mollyx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

bargainbird You did a great job and it looks pretty. Your tension also was great as the square (in the middle) is pretty on centre as well. Well done. :T When I was about 14 I started a blanket but made squares & my Mum put them together. I think I finished it when I was 30. :D

HH I know the feeling. We all live such exciting lives. :D
Haribo Going to bed early to watch a dvd. Obviously the honeymoon stage is a dim memory. :D
purpleivyHope everything pans out on the job front.
Molly Glad you feel a bit brighter now.

Well it's the start of my day so I better tackle the chores before the heat sets in. N9eav seemed to be surprised it was a scorcher yesterday. I wonder if he's twigged on I'm an Aussie. :D Sleep well everyone. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
