Sorry I had to skite off earlier, DGS2 and Kerry were involved in a tussle while OH was cooking dinner and he (OH) was having a hissy fit so I had to get involved, much as I wanted to stay here.

Congratulations RosyRed on mastering crochet....you will fly at it in no time I am sure.

Public servants are all going on one-day strike tomorrow in protest against existing 7%levy and proposed (alleged) 12%pay cut to be announced in our budget on 9th December, so DD4 and DGS2 have invited us for dinner...looking forward to that, might go shopping in the morning as I need new shoes and bra for the wedding on 5th.

Knitted a slipper last night from a pattern on here somewhere to see what size it would come out, pleased with outcome, going to put a pair in each bag I am doing for dgds for Christmas.

Going to scrub out one of my late mother's old tea caddies to give to DD4 as she uses all kinds of tea and would like to have something that belonged to my mother, to whom she was very close.

Need to buy some furniture polish tomorrow and think that I will try to get some of that old fashioned lavender scented one we used in the past....need to polish my round table for my newly cleared and cleaned (Nearly) dining room which I normally use as my pc and non tv sitting room.

Trust that people affected by flooding will soon be back to normal, sad to hear that a second person has died as a result of the weather. DD1 and DS1 are both without water in Cork and DD1 is having to take a circuitous route to get to work.

Hugs to all in need or want to-day,

    Marie.

My sister had to leave her car about a mile away from home last week, and they were rescued by her brother in law who is the farmer on the farm where she lives - he has a big 4 wheel drive and a tractor. She says there is a hole in the river wall in the centre of Cork, and the river of course has come straight out, so there is only one way into the city from the west. Luckily, they have their water from a well on the farm.

    Hello folks,

No OS to report today. I went back to bed for a couple of hours after ds went to school, and dinner was out of the freezer (made by me though). I decided that after the weekend I'd treat myself to a day off :rotfl:

    Take care all of you.
  • Evening all

    Will read through shortly.

I had a busy day in work, lots of paperwork with my teens and we put up the Christmas tree in the reception of our building (we are in a council building). Then I went to my parents to pick up my post and some dresses I'd ordered from Debenhams. And then went to visit my nan to give her a belated birthday present. I was sooo tired when I got in.

I had leftovers for tea - stuffed peppers, mash and stuffing. It was lovely not to have to cook.

    Have good evening all

Taplady & PippaS It must be different for every computer as when I try Taplady's way nothing happens except for a long link being written down  :p:cool: I think that Diva or BargainBird will know as they both seemed very up on it all when Diva first gave us the link.

Pippa You'll have to bear with me here but ........

    1. Right click on the smiley you want on Hystersisters & click on 'View image location', then copy image location.

    2. Go back to MSE reply bit & look at the top of the box that you're typing your reply in and click the square one that looks like yellow postcard with mountains on it - called Insert Image.

    3. When the box comes up it'll say 'Please enter the URL of your image' and the box will be highlighted blue with 'http://' in it.

    4. Delete that bit and, with your mouse over the box, right click and then click paste. Click 'ok' and it should come out like this jumping0044.gif I hope!

Pippas - :hello: have a go this way
