Morning, wet here now but the wild wind has died down, and at least I got the bins/dog out before the rain started.
Celyn-you're making me envious,I loved Prague when we visited a couple of years ago.
    NLMC-((HUGS))
    Diva,glad you've been talking to Tris,thats great.
Pen Pin-so sorry to hear of your sad loss.

Beef stew for us tonight, with the M&S roasties and Med veg we didnt have yesterday,as we went to football, and wanted something quick when we came home-I'd taken chilli out of the freezer so it just needed heating up,along with garlic bread.

I need to make some bread shortly,it will go quicker as we are all at home.

I finished the Xmas table runner, red with gold holly on it,should look nice on Christmas day.I need to find out if DB and his family are joining us,they usually do,but we haven't talked about it yet.

Tried a bit of crochet last night after watching a video, but have not got the hang of it yet-I can only do chains :o and I wanted to do the teeny tiny flowers to make a brooch.I sewed some of the chains together in circles, and have made a bigger flower, but its not the same.I had some hooks in my sewing box which were my dear Grans, but she was a knitter, never really saw her crochet.I'm probably trying to run before I can walk:rotfl:

Right, better carry on,I've finished my cuppa now,so will carry on hoovering etc.Hope you all have a good day.x

    Morning all!

Been really grumpty and grotty with this tummy bug, good for losing weight I guess, but I'm now really fed up with not being able to eat properly, I like my food!

Planning on spending most of the day in bed and recovering, but will be surfacing later and plan to s&s kitchen, check ds's packing for his trip to Germany, go and buy last min bits and bobs for ds's trip, and cooking something for kids' dinner.

Lunches: hm sos rolls from freezer, choc muffins, apple and satsuma

Dinner: who knows, but if the kids eat much more pasta I think I might have a rebellion on my hands!

Have a good day all xx

ps - thanks for the fb comments ladies, and redruby, you wouldn't believe some of the new "friends" I've gained!

Well, second coffee break of the day. Some of you may have seen I tried to post earlier. Can't remember what about, but I think it was too long!

Thanks for all your kind words. sitting here with the SAD lamp now. Is it dark where you are? It's like the sun cba this morning.

My wrinklies have gone home. Offered to come and spend some time with me here if I'm feeling low and/or want company. DH is going to be lodging with them and commuting to Immingham for work for the foreseeable future, so am here by myself during the week. Nice of them to offer.

WM, DW on , have made some stock and cooked some beans in the microwave. Easier to get them the right level of 'doneness' than in the pressure cooker.

SAD hit me bigstyle on Saturday lunchtime, hoping that it was just a few stressy events. Going into Liverpool on Saturday night, as dh fancied going for a meal while ds was at his rehearsal, we don't know Liverpool and traffic system isn't easy. Got parked eventually and had a meal in ASK, which was nice, but very very noisy. Had to go in again yesterday for the concert at Philharmonic Hall. Nice ds gets to play in a good venue like that, but we had to take 2 cars as there were too many for one. I didn't know where I was going. Anyway, was OK when I got there, but driving somewhere in the dark and rain when the traffic system is tricky was traumatic. Plus I nearly lost my hair as it was windy. Mum had a hood on her coat so she was OK. Wig is getting to end of its life, so not quite as 'elastic' as it was a few months ago when I started wearing it. TMI maybe? Sorry.

Have lots of jobs to keep me busy so I will try and do just that. Plus usual Monday morning stuff. Have to go into the village to take a coat to the CS. MIL works there and thought it might do for DS, but it's too big. Maybe the rain will ease off later.

DS and I have leftover veg, plus I'm making fishcakes with the salmon left over. He will like that.

THink I will finish here before the message gets scoffed by the MSE dragon.

Been a bit spasmodic in posting recently, nor have I managed to read every day. Am trying to keep up though! I don't post as often as I read, because I quite often don't have anything OS to post, especially the days I work. Love reading what everyone else does though!

Pen-pin - Sorry to hear your news. We also had a death in the family yesterday which was very sad. My childrens great-grandmother died (my ex-husbands nan). She had been in hospital for a few weeks but seemed to be on the mend, so it was quite unexpected. It is the first death in the family the children have experienced, and they were very close to her. They took the news well, but not looking forward to the funeral. I remember going to my Grandads funeral when i was a child and bawling my eyes out.

Mummysaver - sorry to read you split up with your OH last week.

MSD - glad to hear Tris is doing well.

Anyway, house is a tip, really need to go shopping as no food in, yet I've still managed to waste the morning on here and doing other stuff. Really should pull my finger out!

    Have a good day all.

Afternoon. I'm just having a small break before my lunch. I've made the potato bake and it smells lovely. I layered up thin slices of potatoes with sliced onions & leftover gammon, putting salt & pepper between the layers. Then I dotted the top layer of potatoes with butter & poured chicken stock to about 3/4 of the way up. I'll be serving it with carrots, sweetcorn & peas :D It reminds me of a mixture of a french potato dish (whose name escapes me at the moment ;)) and bacon, onion & potato hotpot.

Purpleivy Good on you for keeping busy while your husband is away. I always try to do things that are just for me when my DH is not here - such as having a dvd fest with DD that gets in the way of the news :rotfl: having long baths & doing my nails or reading until 2am. You did well navigating through Liverpool centre I've only been a few times and it was hard work with lots of one way systems etc

I think you're thinking of Boulangere potatoes, I do them often as they don't need mashing and faffing around with. Usually with roast lamb.

I can't be bothered with going out unless I have to. I missed sewing club in Manchester last Monday cos I didn't feel like going out. It's a shame as next time I'll have to miss as ds has a rehearsal and the one after that he has a concert I should go to.

Aussie looking good as always :D

Have scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of its life, where does all the mess come from ???? I balme OH :D, hooved top to bottom, mopped floors, cleaned kitchen, and done 2 loads in the wm, which are on the airer, it has not stopped raining for a moment here, little dog took one look out the door and scarpered back up the stairs to lay on dd's bed

Need to finish off some papers to send to the solicitor, and then do some spuds for dinner.

Its very dark here, sitting with the lamps on.

    hooved top to bottom,

 Does that mean you have been dancing up and down the stairs on your little trotters?:p:D

I seem to actually be achieving stuff today. :confused:Monday is just usually a game of catch up.
I've cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen, dusted the living room and our bedroom. Washed 2 loads of clothes and hung on the pulley, prepped tea for tonight, done all the banking, made flapjacks, bread rolls and apple muffins and am just about to hooveR the whole house.
Wanted to get some knitting done but that can wait till this evening.

    Bye for now. xx
