You can't claim under the Sale Of Goods Act [SOGA], but you can definitely claim under the Financial Insurance Debit Option scheme.
Is this the one endorsed by the World Organisation for Online Finances ?

I would say anyone breeding dogs and selling them IS a business. I presume their purpose of breeding was to sell the puppies for profit? Did they pay with cash? Did they get a VAT receipt?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Yep, they paid in cash and got a receipt (which is just a word-processed A4 sheet created by the breeder). Don't know if they claim benefits; they have a lot of children but the breeder works at least part time.

I think it is only officially termed a business when breeders have 5 or more litters per year and then they need a licence from their council.

I think my friends have learned their lesson. My own dog is a rescue dog so I am well aware of the benefits of getting a dog through a reputable orgainisation and if they do decide to get a dog again (unlikely) then I will drag them to a rescue centre.
