What do you mean by once they got him home?
1) So they drove home, put the pup down on the floor and suddenly noticed it was ill?
2) They noticed it was unwell during the journey home?
3) They didn't notice it was unwell til the next day?
4) It wasn't ill til a week or so later?
Was the pup taken to the vet straight away or were some of the symptoms wrongly confused with change of food/water/stress of journey and being away from Mum?
Did they phone breeder for advice when pup was first ill?

in all time with this forum ,I have recieved and given some good advice .as my collie died last week of cancer ,the headline caught my eye.
feel a bit sorry for idiots who post ,sick jokes on line ,pathetic idiots who hide behind a pc.......no need to reply , original person tried to save pup ,it failed ,know how you feel, pedigree dogs now do not seem as hardy for last few years ,my next collie will be from a rescue centre ,too many ''puppy breeders'' genuine one would have sorted out for you as soon as he/she was informed......zee0 -

The puppy was not from a proper breeder, just somebody with a litter who was advertising on the internet. The puppy was not insured or vaccinated. It came with a pedigree but was not KC registered. It was 8 weeks when they got it. It vomited on the way home (but they thought that was the journey) and had vomiting and diarrhoea the next day (which they thought was the stress of the journey, etc). They took it to the vet the following day and the vet thought it was gastroenteritis but then the puppy became much worse and parvo was confirmed the following day (about 3 days after they brought it home). I think it is unlikely that the breeder is licensed although I have been trying to find a list of licensed breeders from the breeder's council but no luck. I know if breeders have more than four litters per year they should have a licence but I can't prove that they have or had more than one litter. My neighbours are going through the Small Claims Court. I don't know if the above helps anyone to shed any morelight on this but I am guessing that as I can't prove that this breeder is conducting a business then it's a case of buyer-beware?0

And meanwhile poor little souls suffer and die - get your friend to contact RSPCA and try to stop more of these pups suffering.0

zee, so sorry to hear about your collie. You may want to look at Wiccaweys web site when you feel able. xxx0
