I've thought and thought about this today and read all your comments and it was rose who eventually made me see that bro and sis in law are not the best choice and I will ask my friend (who is the little one's godmother - thanks tooch and kaz) if she would do it.

Thankyou everyone for your comments, I know its OT. seem to be doing a lot of that this week. Sorry.

Jill there's no way its OT, you have your childrens best interests at heart. IMO godparents have already agreed to look after the welfare of your children in some respects. Good luck with your decision.

(((hugs))) for all of you suffering from damp/mould, ventilation is your best bet, but if its really bad, then invest in a dehumidifier. Even a cheap one will make a significant difference
I did wonder, my only confusion is that room is aired really well as you have to walk through it from the front door to the litchen so the air never gates stale, the door to the hallway is always propped open and the area of damp is under the window which is invariably open . Having said that I have just looked and there is an air brick outside that is level with the ground, presumably the previous occupants had the concrete laid higher. Could be waters getting in. Would this cause it?
Can anyone suggest some book ideas for me please:

DS3 - 7(nearly 8) good reading wants chaper books. Not Horrid Henry as he doesn't like them. We've got the Flat Stanleys - that sort of level. What are Olga Da Polga like?

DS1 - 15 like !!!!!! Francis so some ideas of books like that please. Good but reluctant reader.

Hi Dusty. DS now 17 has been reading Robert Muchamore books for a few years now - I think its a series that follows on. So much so that when a new one is coming out he goes and buys it on the release day and has usually finished it the next! Sorry cant add to the other suggestions for younger one.

H - Welcome to the thread and dont worry about keeping up with reading the posts, it can put people off when they cant keep up. The more weeks you stay the easier the flying becomes so you have more time to read. Good luck

Piggers - which room are you doing now, have you nearly finished all of them?

Rosepink - take it easy hun

carol - hope you feeling a bit better after the swim

Ok so today I have done zilcho flying.

Spent the whole morning with my friend. Came back had a late lunch and watched daytime TV . Went to pick up DD from her school theatre trip at 3.45 Waited with the other parents until 4.05 then went to find out why they werent back. Secretary said we've had a message that theyre not returning until 4.15. Gee thanks for letting the parents know who stood out in the cold, but not only that she had a dentist appt at 4.20 and if I'd known I could have picked up from theatre. Frantic phone call to dentist to say we would be late and a mad dash to chuck her out of the car to brush her teeth while I found somewhere to park. Why cant they just let us know, her form teacher said they let the school know at 1 o clock . Then it was dash back to get tea for DS and I'm off in a min to have my haircut.
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

    Cleaned the cloakroom
Hairdresser should be here any minute for mass shearing

I'll tidy up the kitchen and put the kettle on whilst I wait for her.

Thanks for all the book suggestions - I'll have a look at the book people later. Kaz - DS2 reads that series too as well as the Horowitz ones but DS1 is not keen on them - he wants murder, gambling and conspiracy. Mudders - is Olga more for girls? Would your DS like them?

I'll join you for a HHC tag - believe me I need to do something!!

Dusty - DS likes the Olga series too. I definitely got the whole series from the book people but that was a while ago.

DS decluttered to cubs but managed to stress me out totally first. I really try not to do stress but ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I refuse to mollycoddle an 8 year old. He is supposed to get everything ready the night before....e.g. school bag, anything for after school, cubs etc. He came down last night to say that everything was ready. Today he managed to leave his water bottle at home (I had no choice but to take it to him because I don't want him to get ill again). He forgot his lunchtime club and then 2 minutes before cubs I went to find out what he was doing and he said 'i've not got ready because I don't have my things!' Aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Luckily it was clean but not ironed and I made him wear it like that. I'm not doing things last minute and making all the children I pick up late. He's not pleased with me but the feeling is mutual!!!!

Lol, a few weeks ago, when he was so ill, I'd have loved to have problems like this! I guess life is back to normal!!!:rotfl:

Need to find my list to see what to do in my HHC - oh yes, everything!!! :D

Dusty - for your older DS try Alistair Maclean. There was a 3 for £5 on either banana bookshop or book people which includes the Road to Dusty Death which is one of the best ones - about motor racing.

Mudbath - Thanks - the picture is Tiger who is my most recent addition and is just coming up for six months old now. He is a lovely fearless purry lap cat.

Not much more done beyond feeding people and animals, S&Sing the kitchen and putting the WM on.
